Game of Thrones stars aren’t just known for being a part of the biggest show in the world. They have more attributes than just acting, and most of them have been involved in one social cause or another. Recently, Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow on the show, spoke in support of Mencap’s #StopSleepInCrisis Campaign in the UK. For those of you who don’t know, this campaign is an appeal for the government to fund six years’ backpay for overnight carers who care for those with learning disabilities. Kit explains in the video that the charities are now facing a £400 million backpay, which will bankrupt them soon. This would result in a lot of the vulnerable people lacking carers.
Kit sheds light on the current state of how the people with learning disabilities will lose the care and support they need. He urges viewers to sign a petition and offer their support to this campaign. Take a look at the video below:
In the past, actors Lena Headey, Maisie Williams, Liam Cunningham and others have also been involved in supporting a lot of causes.
