Game of Thrones Season 8 finale beats all previous viewership records for HBO

Game of Thrones final season might not have gotten the expected response from critics and fans with regards to the rankings, the show still has maintained its viewership figures. Game of Thrones season 8, episode 6, “The Iron Throne” beat all previous viewership records for HBO, making it the most watched HBO episode of all time. Read on!
A report by The Wall Street Journal says that the finale of the show garnered a record viewership of 19.3 million viewers, including the live TV viewership, and streaming viewership from HBO Go and HBO Now. The live TV views accounted for 13.6 million of those views.
This not only make the episode the most watched Game of Thrones episode of all time, but also makes it the most viewed HBO episode in history, standing above some pretty great television.
Season 8 has consistently broken the viewership records for the show, starting right from the premiere. The last episode of the show being the most watched is quite fitting, given Game of Thrones had been HBO’s poster child for a long time now.
