Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey kicks-off her directorial career with psychological thriller ‘Violet’
Game of Thrones star Lena Headey is an amazing performer. When she played Cersei Lannister on the show, her evil queen persona was so powerful, that some fans began to despise her in real life. Nonetheless, true fans know and love her for the same, for her phenomenal acting. Headey is now on her way to try her hands at directing, starting with the upcoming thriller ‘Violet‘.
In an interview with Deadline, Headey talked about her first experience as a director for a feature. She said, “Susi’s Violet is a compulsive page turner that stayed with me long after I finished the book — it’s exciting that my first feature as a director will be such an intense female thriller. It’s a wild ride to the finish with vast cinematic scope, centering around two very complex women who will completely unravel over the course of the film. I can’t wait to get rolling.”
The psychological thriller is based on the successful recent novel by SJI Holliday. The story follows two solo female travelers who immediately hit it off and decide to team up for the next leg of their adventure. As the journey continues things start to unravel – because neither of the women is who they claim to be.
The feature is slated to begin production in October. Are you excited for Lena Headey’s directorial debut on Violet? Talk to us in the comments below!
