Game of Thrones is casting 8 new characters for Season 8!
Game of Thrones Season 8 is nearing the end of its filming, and we expect it to wind up within at least 2-3 months. Even though filming has progressed so much, we are still getting casting updates, and today we have one that involves 8 characters! Minor spoilers ahead, consider yourself warned. Read on!
Now, the new information comes from an exclusive report from Game of Thrones fan site, Watchers on the Wall. Now, to start off, we have a bunch of five characters, all set to be a part of a scene described as an “improv-heavy scene all about haggling over land.” Now that doesn’t sound like a scene involving lead cast, and there’s no mention of the same. It will likely be a filler scene, to lighten up the mood in the midst of all the fighting we’re going to be seeing.
Next up, we have three separate characters. First off, is the role of astrong soldier, male, aged 30-40. The description apparently requires a “physically intense performance from a strapping squaddie type.” It also asks for an “imposing presence and actual combat skills,” so we know that the said character will be present in one of the action scenes. Rehearsals for this character will begin from April 30, and the character will be filmed with in Belfast in the week starting May 23.
Next up, is the role of a young village girl, who will have a typical part. The scene will involve the girl getting “attacked by a man in a physically intense scene for which the actress will have to go naked above-the-waist“. Age requirements are 18-25, and filming schedule is the same as the previous character, which might mean the two share a scene.
Lastly, is the character of a grieving man, clean shaven, and aged 30-40. This character will be in a highly emotional scene, but the actor requirements state that the production is looking for “someone who won’t go over-the-top.” Filming will be in Belfast, in the week starting on June 18.
