Game of Thrones director Jeremy Podeswa discusses working on the show

Game of Thrones is a great show, and while it has great writers and showrunners, their choice of directors is what really nails the vision. One of those directors has been Jeremy Podeswa, who first joined the show with Season 5, directing episodes “Kill the Boy” and “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken,” followed by Season 6 episodes like “The Red Woman” and “Home,” and finishing with the first and final episodes of Season 7. He will not return for Season 8. However, he recently talked about working on the show withThe Sun Daily. Read on!

Now, we know Game of Thrones is an extensive production, and Podeswa says it’s the biggest he’s ever worked on:

“I would say it is the most complex production I have ever done. Logistically, it is very complex because we had to shoot in so many different countries, so much visual effects and an enormous cast. Every episode has some very specific challenges but it is a great thing to do. We are working with amazingly awesome people at every level and it is amazingly well run.”

He said that he was already a fan of the show when he was called on to work on it, and loved the opportunity:

“I always loved Game of Thrones and wanted to be a part of it. So I was happy to be given the opportunity to direct episodes on seasons five, six and seven.”

Now if you don’t know, Podeswa directed the episode in which Jon Snow came back from the dead, and that was one of the most talked about episodes of Game of Thrones, ever. Speaking of this, he said:

“For me, it is fun to be in the dialogue. I think the audience was quite satisfied about how it was handled. I think the fact that the audience was so affected and had such strong feelings is very exciting. For the most part, I am excited about what fans think.”
