Game of Thrones casts Megan Parkinson for the part of a Northern girl

With pictures of stars from Game of Thrones season 7 filming having surfaced these days, actors Kit Harington, Gwendoline Christie, Liam Cunningham and Aiden Gillen were joined by an actress who appeared to be Sophie Turner’s double as Sansa Stark. In one of our previous posts, we had discussed whether she was playing Sophie’s body double based on her looks. However, the woman who was seen giving Kit Harington a hug is, in fact, not a body double, but actress Megan Parkinson.
As it turns out, 19 year old from Yorkshire has a separate role for herself, and has appeared onHolby Cityand has filmed roles in the upcoming TV movies To Walk Invisible and Our Loved Boy. Upon further inspection of the photographs, Megan’s picture has a crew member fixing a leather belt onto her, and it looks like the round pommel of a sword is stuck up out of the belt. Here’s the picture:
The very plain costume, which looks northern, is not entirely different from what Sansa wears, but it isn’t very likely that Sansa would be seen with a sword belt. Now focussing on who this character could be, the casting notices previously issued by Game of Thrones specified one of 16-year-old Northern girl character. The character is part of“a high-stakes scene with leading cast members.”
This puts her working with the ensemble cast into perspective. Who exactly this northern girl could be is not clear, but theories suggest that it could be the character of Alys Karstark from the books, who might be presenting her House on the show. She could well be from another northern family. Let us know in the comments who you think could be the character that Megan plays in season 7
