Game of Thrones cast struggles to spell Daenerys Targaryen and production begins on GoT prequel
Game of Thrones Season 8 is nearly here, and we are in the final circle now. The interview bits from press junkets are rolling in. The latest one is hilarious, and features the cast of the show trying to pronounce the Khaleesi‘s name, despite multiple attempts, and failing. Read on!
On their press tour, in a sit-down with the LA Times, the cast of Game of Thrones were asked to spell out “Daenerys Targaryen“, and hilarity ensued. Check out the video:

The funniest part about this video is Iain Glenn (Jorah Mormont) giving up trying to spell the name out, and Conleth Hill (Varys) not even going for an attempt saying he’s got nothing to prove.
Also struggling were Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark), Conleth Hill (Varys), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) and Carice Van Houten (Melisandre), and failing. The only actor who passed the spelling test was Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), which we’re sure will make Emilia Clarke proud.
In other news, production on the Game of Thrones prequel seems to have started, and in the early stages. We got some exclusive information and a picture of the same. Our source tells us that the set building has begun on the Antrim coast in Ireland. They have the base built up, and they’ve started to bring in equipment like the toilets and port-a-cabins. Check out the picture:
More on that as it develops.
In the meantime, we have just launched a Game of Thrones Death Pool so that fans of the show have an interesting activity to participate in during the season. You can vote every week before the episode airs and predict whether a character lives or dies. Get the maximum number of correct predictions by the end of Season 8 to win the Death Pool.

Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is fast on track for its release in 2022. Last week, the crew was spotted filming at various sites in Cornwall. The show’s stars Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy were seen filming on Holywell Beach in costume. Some more photos were leaked, later on, providing a glimpse at another important character, Lord Corlys Velaryon.
The Daily Mail recently published photos of the cast and crew preparing for a busy day of shooting in Cornwall. The leaked photos provide the very first look at Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon. Also, the filming that day took place at St. Michael’s Mount, which is very likely the set for Driftmark, the home base for House Velaryon.
In other photos, Matt Smith was seen wrapped up in a padded black jacket that covered his black ensemble. He was covered up with his coat to protect it from the rain as he walked to and from the set. His mid-length wig was pulled into a half-back hairdo.
Emma D’Arcy wore a long crimson gown to portray Princess Rhaenyra. She was also covered up with a large overcoat to keep herself warm from the bracing wind. With all the characters clad in black/dark colours, with a sizable group gathered, it may have been for a funeral. Possibly for the sarcophagus seen that day on set.

Fantasy is a blissful escape from bleak reality. The COVID-19 pandemic is on the rise again, and the world economy is in ruins. People rely on the fantastical world to take a break from everything that’s going on. Game of Thrones was one such happy escape that kept fans entertained for nearly a decade. No wonder it was voted as the greatest TV show of the 21st century. Actress Lena Headey is one of the biggest names from the cast of the show. The veteran actress is back to the small screen with the sci-fi series Beacon 23.
Serving as one of the lead characters, Headey will star as Aster. A woman who mysteriously becomes a beacon keeper on a remote lighthouse. She is also set to executive produce through her production company, Peephole Productions.
Based on the book of the same name by Hugh Howey, Beacon 23 follows Halan and Aster as they find themselves trapped at the end of the known universe as beacon keepers. They are responsible for ensuring the safe passage of ships in the 23rd century. Unable to tell if the other is trustworthy, a tense battle of wills unfolds at the edge of space. Howey’s series has five entries, so there is plenty of content and inspiration to draw from for the new small-screen adaptation.

Spy movies are a mind-bending genre of films that involve a lot of puzzle-solving and action. Movies like 007, Mission Impossible have always tickled human imagination about a spy’s life. Game of Thrones’ Richard Madden is now associated with The Citadel, a spy-thriller.
After a month of prep, The Citadel began filming with Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra as its lead. The Russo Brothers are the creators of the Amazon Prime Video series. The shooting of Citadel will likely take place in London. The plot is currently under wraps.
Madden and Chopra will star in the U.S. ‘mothership’ edition of the series. The epic Citadel franchise, a co-production with Midnight Radio, is an action-packed spy series with a compelling emotional centre. Josh Appelbaum, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg of Midnight Radio serve as writers and executive producers. Moran, Mike Larocca and Russo Brothers serve as executive producers. The Italian series will be co-produced with Amazon Studios and ITV Studios. Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. alongside Amazon Studios will develop the Indian version.
Richard Madden is already working on another big project i.e. Marvel’s Eternals. Another Game of Thrones alum Kit Harington is working by his side in the movie. The duo is excited to work with the MCU. Are you excited about the upcoming spy series? Tell us in the comments below!
