Game of Thrones Adaptation Mod turns Skyrim into Westeros

As some of you might know, Skyrim is a game that has a lot of mods, and fans never fail to take advantage of it. We have seen a lot of good mods hit the game, but the latest one might be the best one yet. Apparently, Bethesda, the makers of Skyrim, were in talks with George R. R. Martin, the creator of the Game of Thrones universe, about adapting A Song of Ice and Fire into a game, before Skyrim was made, or Game of Thrones came to HBO. It has been pointed out before how Skyrim has a Game of Thrones vibe, and according to Bethesda’s executive director, Todd Howard,  “It [A Game of Thrones] it seeped in a bit to what we were doing.” We had previously reported about the first trailer for Game of Thrones being recreated in Skyrim. A new fan mod now aims to transform the game into a Game of Thrones-like environment.

According to a recent report by Kotaku, a fan named Kualan is woking on a Skyrim mod, titled  the Game of Thrones Adaptation Mod, which will change the entire setting of the game into Westeros.  Kualan has listed the mod on Mod DB. The introductory description reads as follows :

“Enter the world of Westeros in this large-scale overhaul mod that sees Skyrim transformed into the Seven Kingdoms. From Winterfell to King’s Landing and beyond, you can choose to fight for or against any of the great houses of Westeros. Will you side with the Starks in their rebellion, or aid the Lannisters in ensuring that all debts are paid?”

It goes on to say :

“The Game Of Thrones Adaptation Mod aims to ‘adapt’ your Skyrim game into the world of Westeros, as featured in the A Song Of Ice And Fire books by George R. R. Martin.

This will involve changing everything from the soldiers you encounter (goodbye Imperials, hello Lannisters), the places you visit (Windhelm? I think you mean Winterfell) and conversion of several tens of thousands of text and subtitles to adapt the story and lore to a more Westeros-friendly environment.”

Not only will you come across hundreds of characters from the story, you can also recruit over 50 unique followers to make your way through the Seven Kingdoms, which we expect, will include almost every character having a decent sized narrative in the story. The original landscapes, like Dragonstone, Bear Island, and more will also be seen. Watch the trailer for this mod, below :

Kualan hasn’t provided a release date, but he has been beta testing the mod since November. You can support him on Pateron to help speed up the development. Will you be getting the mod when it comes out? Tell us in the comments, down below!
