It is no surprise anymore that Game of Thrones season 7 episode 4, ‘The Spoils of War‘ was leaked online days before its official release. HBO has been bearing the brunt of hackers these days and we don’t know when it’s going to stop. Even though it’s common knowledge that Game of Thrones is actually the most pirated show in the world, this episode leak created a lot of stir. The leak of episode 4 happened from India, and four people have now been arrested on account of it.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Akbar Pathan told spoke to AFP about it, saying, “We investigated the case and have arrested four individuals for unauthorised publication of the fourth episode from season seven.”

The four accused of criminal breach of trust and computer-related offences will be detained until August 21 amid an investigation, he said further. Local media reported that the case was filed by a Mumbai-based company responsible for storing and processing the TV episodes for the Hotstar app which streams the episodes.

It has been reported that the accused were employees of the company with official credentials that gave them access to the episodes. We’re glad that the criminals have finally been caught. Majority of the fans who’d rather legally watch the episodes prefer not to get any spoilers, and because of such leaks, there are spoilers almost everywhere on the internet. Season 7 is gradually coming to an end now as there are only two more episodes left based on the shortened run of the final two seasons, and there’s still a threat of episodes and scripts leaking. But we hope that the ardent fans will wait until next week to watch the much anticipated episodes of Game of Thrones.
