Emilia Clarke tried remembering Dothraki lines to stay conscious after suffering a brain hemorrhage
Game of Thrones Season 8 is about to premiere on television in 11 days. However, the show is having its premiere in New York today, and the stars are already in town, visiting talk shows. One of these appearances was by Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), who recently went on to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where she discussed everything from her brain aneurysms to spoiling the end of Season 8. Read on!
Emilia started off by discussing how she recited her Dothraki lines to keep her mind active after suffering a brain hemorrhage:
“The easy way of describing it is that it’s the worst headache that a human could possibly manage to experience. It was pretty intense. I genuinely knew I was being brain damaged. I don’t know how. [I] moved my fingers, toes, my hands, asked myself questions, Dothraki lines. [I was] really trying to force my memory to stay conscious.”
Colbert asked her how it was that she knew what to do in her situation. Emilia replied saying:
“The mind is an extraordinary thing. I just knew that I was… not today.”
She continued:
“It made me petrified most of the time. I wish I could sit here and say I was just like, ‘Yeah, let’s go jump out of a plane!’ But I did do Game Of Thrones, which was similar, certain seasons.”

She also shared that she had revealed the end of the show to her mother:
“Well, I’ve got to be honest, I did [tell someone], I did. Not just my dog, I told, wasn’t supposed, sorry lads. I told my mom. But the good thing about telling my mom these things is that she’s a vault because she’s just done forgotten. I told her. And we were talking about it the other day, and I was like, ‘Because, you know,’ and she was like, ‘Do I?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, ‘cause I told ya. You kind of read one of the scenes,’ and she was like ‘I can’t remember what happens.’ And I was like, ‘I already told you twice. You missed your chance.’”
She further discussed her reaction to the Season 8 scripts, and more. She also excitedly said that she cannot wait for Season 8 to drop. Neither can we, Emilia. Neither can we.
Game Of Thrones Season 8 airs on 14th April, 9 PM in USA and fans of the show from India can rejoice as Hotstar is airing the episodes without any delay, which translates to Monday, 15th April, 6:30 am IST.
