Emilia Clarke was never the one to shy away from unconventional parenting roles. Be it being the Mother of Dragons in Game of Thrones to growing a baby in an artificial womb in her latest film, The Pod Generation. The movie is a sci-fi romantic comedy in a world where artificial intelligence is taking over everything. And the newest technology allows couples to share their pregnancy through an artificial womb.

Set to premiere at Sundance 2023, the project stars Emilia Clarke alongside Oscar-nominated Chiwetel Ejiofor. Rachel (Emilia Clarke) and Alvy (Chiwetel Ejiofor) are a couple who want to begin their journey into parenthood. Rachel’s job presents her with an opportunity to try a new tool. This futuristic invention allows couples to share a pregnancy via detachable artificial wombs called pods.
