Emilia Clarke returns from vacation break as Game of Thrones season 7 filming restarts
Game of Thrones Season 6 left us with a lot to look forward to, and we were heartbroken when it was announced that Season 7 will be premiering later than usual, with a tentative date set somewhere in the summer of 2017. The filming for the next season had been going on in full swing, till it took a break for the holidays, and it seems like now it is ready to resume. Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on the show, was spotted flying to Belfast, Northern Ireland, where some of the filming is scheduled to happen.
Then Emilia herself posted a video of herself in her Dany wig, to Instagram. Check it out, below :
Emilia always goes the extra mile with her hashtags, and this time she tagged the picture with #FirstDayBackInThePretendRealWorld, which is even more of a confirmation that the filming is back on, in case any of us still had some doubt about it.
Season 7 already seems like it will be intense, considering how usually the filming used to get wrapped up by December, but this is the first time the cast and crew has had to return to film in the same year in which it will air. It has been said that the filming of winter scenes needed to be authentic, which is why the production has scheduled it for when it’s actually snowy, which is appreciable for the authenticity it will bring to the horrors that the winter is getting to the series.
While most outdoor shooting seems to have been finished off in Spain and Belfast already, and we would have expected the shooting to be mostly indoors now, at the Titanic Studios in Belfast, but the winter footage waiting for a snowy weather will require the production to have at least some outdoors shooting, and this will be done in Iceland, is what we have been hearing.
Check back for further updates on filming, we will be bringing them to you as they come. Are you excited to see what horrors winter is bringing to the series in Season 7? Tell us in the comments, below!
