Elliot Grihault hints Lucerys being alive in House of The Dragon Season 2 was once in the talks
House of the Dragon‘s final episode, which aired last year, was just as sad as fans had anticipated. Those who had read the books were dreading this day because the conclusion featured yet another important character’s death scene. Lucerys Velaryon, the second son of Queen Rhaenyra, was killed fighting Aemond and his dragon Vhagar while returning from Storm’s End as an emissary. The death will have a “Strong” impact on the civil war even if there wasn’t much of a battle; it was just outright murder.
There was a possibility of Lucerys’ return in House of The Dragon Season 2
House of The Dragon stars Harry Collett and Elliot Grihault, who played the brothers Jacaerys and Lucerys, were present at the Marvel DC Plus (MDC+) Comic Con, which was held on Sunday 21st May 2023 at Quex Park, Birchington. The two signed autographs, took pictures, and answered several fan questions, one of which was directed at Elliot about Lucerys actually surviving. He said this, before being interrupted and reminded by Harry that it was confidential information:
“Yeah, I tried. We tried… Oh well. I can’t say (laughs).”

Harry Collett and Elliot Grihault like their characters’ deaths
Both Harry and Elliot are aware of where the scripts lead to in the books, and social media is hard to ignore. Nonetheless, they are happy with how their characters die. At the Q&A panel, the on-screen brothers both agreed that they were “happy about the ending their characters got because they died for their queen and mother”.
