Ellie Kendrick (Meera Reed) talks about Game of Thrones in a new interview
The stars of Game of Thrones seem to have a lot on their plate, even when they’re not filming for the show. Being a part of a show that is as big a phenomenon as Game of Thrones is, the stars have no difficulty in landing other big projects. Ellie Kendrick, who plays the role of Meera Reed on the show, is now starring in Whiskey Galore!, remake of the 1949 film, and she spoke about Game of Thrones, and more, in a recent interview about the film. Read on!
Talking to Independent.co.uk, Ellie Kendrick was asked for Game of Thrones spoilers, because, why not? She apparently has no idea how it will proceed. Ellie said :
“It’s all shrouded in HBO’s mystery. What the future of the series is going to be I’d like to know! People often think the actors know…but I genuinely don’t know.”
Ellie did her degree in English Literature at Cambridge, and immediately landed her Game of Thrones role, when she had barely finished her final exams. She recalled :
“I really wanted to be an actor but I wasn’t even sure if I would be able to be one or if there would be the work for me. I was going through that thing everybody goes through at the end of university when they think ‘what am I going to do now.”
Ellie also talked about how being a part of the series meant that she can’t share the excitement with which the fans watch the series. She explained :
“For most people I know who are in the series, the magic is so often lost when you are in something. It becomes harder and harder to watch it. You think oh, I was having a pint with him the day before he filmed that scene. It destabilises the drama when you can see the mechanics behind the scenes and the puppetry that takes place.”
She also writes and directs plays now, and she talked about much more in the interview, so go read it, over here, and come talk to us in the comments, down below!
