Doctor Who adds Game of Thrones' Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) in recurring role
Game of Thrones had an ensemble of the most amazing cast. You can find them frequently in other famous franchises, some even joining big production houses such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel’s Eternals is about to drop, starting Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington and Richard Madden. Their co-star Emilia Clarke is soon to follow them. Other than that, another Game of Thrones alum is set to join a famous fictional universe. Jacob Anderson, popular for playing Grey Worm on the show, will be joining the ever sprawling cast of Doctor Who.
Doctor Who is a pop culture icon, entertaining a huge following of fans over decades. Jacob has been cast as the mysterious Vinder, a recurring character who will pop up throughout the series. Vinder will join forces with the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker), Yaz (Mandip Gill) and Dan (John Bishop) as the Time Lord faces her biggest ever adventure battling the forces of evil across time and space.
Details about Vinder are being kept under wraps but according to Jacob, he is ‘adventurous and dynamic. “The Doctor has been a part of my life forever, from watching and rewatching the serials on VHS as a kid and being terrified, to unexpectedly finding my eyes watering when the Tenth Doctor said “I don’t want to go”, I always wanted to live in the Whoniverse,” Jacob shared.
“Not only has a lifelong dream of mine now been fulfilled, but to be playing a character as fun, adventurous and dynamic as Vinder is the cherry on top. This is very cool.”

Game of Thrones stars are some of the biggest names in the television industry today. Many of them are assigned to big projects, and the cast keeps popping up in the news for major roles they get picked for. From Marvel to DC, to virtually every big franchise, it’s like you throw a stone, you find a Game of Thrones alum there. (Hopefully you got that reference, Loki fans!) Well, after all, Game of Thrones did employ some of the best talents out there. For those who missed the romantic side of Jon Snow, there’s good news. Actor Kit Harington, who played the role, is now playing an all romantic role in Amazon’s Modern Love Season 2. And we really hope Ygritte (Rose Leslie) doesn’t cut off his **** for that!
Amazon recently launched the trailer for season 2, check it out below!
Kit Harington, X-Men’s Anna Paquin, Bohemian Rhapsody’s Lucy Boynton and Christopher Robin’s Sophie Okonedo are just some of the stars featured in the trailer for season 2 of Amazon Prime Video’s anthology series Modern Love.
The 33-year-old actor was spotted in Dublin last year filming for the upcoming series of Modern Love. The series tells the stories of couples published in the New York Times.
Harington’s storyline sees his character meet a girl played by Boynton on a train. Rather than exchange numbers (or Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Snapchat/LinkedIn profiles), they decide to do things old school and meet on the same train journey in two weeks. Then, the pandemic hits…

Game of Thrones has one of the biggest fandoms right now, and as such, the cast members tend to land a lot of big projects, and leave with a bigger fan base than they came with, when they came to Game of Thrones. One of the most talented actors, Liam Cunningham, has recently landed a major role in a highly ambitious project. Cunningham, who played Ser Davos on the show will now be seen in Amblin Partners’ The Last Voyage of the Demeter.
The Last Voyage of the Demeter is based on one chapter from Bram Stoker’s 1897 Gothic horror novel Dracula, about the doomed journey of the sailing ship, Demeter. The script, written by Zak Olkewicz, chronicles Demeter’s journey from Carpathia to London after taking on some mysterious cargo. The cargo (spoiler warning for a 100-plus-year-old book!) holds none other than Dracula himself, and the crew are stalked/eaten each night until none of them is alive when it pulls into England’s Whitby Harbour.
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark director André Øvredal will direct the film, with In the Heights star Corey Hawkins on board as the lead. Everyone’s favourite ‘Onion Knight’ Cunningham will be playing the ship’s stately captain, Captain Eliot.
Cunningham was last seen playing a royal in the TV series Domina. Are you excited to see Liam once again on the silver screen? Talk to us in the comments below!
Working on a project as big as Game of Thrones is a once in a lifetime experience. The fame that comes with being part of something so big exceeds that of the fortune you inherit from the show. People begin to recognize you by your character and remember you by your contribution. Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn left an everlasting mark in the minds of the viewers with his performance as Hodor. Even with his limited time on the show, Bran Stark’s humble protector kept the audience hooked till his last scene.
Nairn has been added to the cast of HBO Max’s pirate comedy Our Flag Means Death. The actor-DJ has been cast as Wee John Feeney, a pirate on the show. Since ending his work on Thrones, Nairn also appeared in the films The Appearance and Robin Hood: The Rebellion.
Our Flag Means Death stars Oscar winner Taika Waititi (The Thor: Ragnarok) as the feared pirate Blackbeard. Waititi will also direct the pilot and executive produce the project.
The story is loosely based on the true adventures of Stede Bonnet, a pampered aristocrat who abandoned his life of privilege to become a pirate. The project is from series creator and showrunner David Jenkins.
Nairn was last seen promoting World of Warcraft with Game of Thrones co-star Isaac Hempstead-Wright. Are you excited about the upcoming pirate comedy? Talk to us in the comments below!
