Daemon’s troubling vision shows him beheading young Rhaenyra
Daemon’s vision shows him young Rhaenyra with the Throne room as the setting. She speaks in High Valyrian and is flaunting a crown. The entire point behind her appearance lies in igniting that fire in Daemon that claims he created her.
Young Rhaenyra seems to be dressed up as the present Rhaenyra, in a black and red long gown. The troubling visions suggest how Daemon has been conflicted with his actions and his relationship with Rhaenyra. The young girl who used to look up to him and his rebellion is now looking down upon him for his insane actions.
What’s more, she insults and incites him in High Valyrian, the language they used in intimate moments. The juxtaposition of negative words in a language they deemed as love puts Daemon’s thoughts over the edge. Enraged by her words Daemon slays young Rhaenyra’s head but she keeps talking. Her head lays in a pool of blood, colouring Daemon’s hands in red.
Daemon has a conversation with Alys Rivers at Harrenhal
The conversation between Daemon and Alys in House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 4 reveals some interesting details including the curse of Harrenhal. Alys suspects Daemon’s sleeplessness is because he’s sleeping on a bed made of Heart trees. Harren had the weirwood trees slain in the name of establishing power. Since then, the castle has been cursed as people can’t sleep in peace.
The visions he saw were also said to be a result of the same aspect. Alys is a witch who dabbles in potions and spells and might play a crucial role in the upcoming narrative of the show.
