Amidst the vast snippets and scenes in the House of the Dragon Season 2 trailer, there are two shots that caught fans’ attention for being in a similar setting. We see Ser Criston Cole, Commander of the Army, galloping across a clear field on his horse. However, it does not seem like a leisurely horse ride as the next show shows Baela Targaryen and Moondancer being right behind him.

This scene reminds ardent fans of a moment in the story called the Battle of Rook’s Rest. The seat is an important ally to Rhaenyra as the Greens rally against Lord Staunton in an effort to force a surrender. The battle is a huge turning point in the story. Baela Targaryen, daughter of Daemon and Lady Laena Velaryon, will perhaps undergo a major character growth in the upcoming season.

What happens at Rook’s Rest?
Battle of Rooks Rest is one of the major fight sequences between the Green and the Black factions. The fate of the realm hangs in the balance all through the battle as the competition is neck to neck. Criston Cole leads the troops in the battle and even makes a strategic trap to destroy Rhaenyra and her allies.
The depiction of fight and battle scenes in House of the Dragon Season 2 will be epic as the stakes are so high for both parties. Death and bloodshed is imminent for the Greens and Blacks alike. The former may emerge victorious on the battlefield but what happens next blows the events of the battle out of the water.
