According to Ed Sheeran, Arya Stark was originally supposed to die in Season 7 of Game of Thrones
Ed Sheeran got a lot of hate for his cameo in Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 1, “Dragonstone”. Fans weren’t too happy with the choice to cast the pop idol as a Lannister soldier. In fact, his brief appearance seems to be the most hated scene of the season so far. Sheeran even shut down his Twitter account after the episode, although he later claimed that his choice to leave Twitter was coincidental.
The Grammy-winning singer (and occasional actor) dropped by the Armchair Expert podcast for Monday’s episode where he talked about how fun it was to appear in the HBO cultural staple series, and how he felt about the backlash.

Sheeran also revealed a previously unknown secret about Maisie Williams’ character in Game of Thrones, Arya Stark, which might come as a shock to several fans. “She’s always been awesome,” Sheeran said of his friend, Williams. “I don’t think they had written the ending yet. It was meant to be her last season but it wasn’t. And as a surprise for her, [they got] me on. So, she was meant to turn up on set. and I was by the fire.”
Does this mean someone else was going to kill the Night King? Was it Jon Snow? Was it someone else? Arya’s death in Season 7 would have surely changed the ending of the series in a big way. What do you think? Tell us in the comments below! comments below!
