House of the Dragon wraps up filming a major battle scene in Surrey
It has been known for quite some time that the second season of House of the Dragon was being filmed simultaneously in Surrey and Leavesden Studios. While the majority of the show will be shot inside the huge premises of the studio, a number of important sequences were being filmed at various locations in Surrey over the last couple of days. The production wrapped up yesterday in Surrey, with a friendly reminder that Season 2 is now an inch closer.
Aegon II’s cavalry arrives toward the end of the battle
In a few of the last-day images, we can see the Green cavalry acting as a backup for Aegon’s decimated forces, who are lying on the floor after being either stabbed or burnt to death. A video of the cavalry pushing through the surrounded dead bodies was also provided by David Sewell.
Smoke, dummies, and limbless soldiers
The last day of filming showed the most brutal face of war, where there were losses on both sides. There was a lot of smoke on the set, indicating dragons were being used in the battle. A number of extras dressed as injured soldiers were also spotted, as well as a dummy that was used as a stand-in for a fire-related scene.
