George R.R. Martin’s show Dark Winds wins two Vision Awards
Given his hectic schedule following the premiere of the Game of Thrones TV series, George R. R. Martin, who has always been busy, was unable to finish all of the books he had planned for the series. However, this does not stop him from following his other ventures, that not only include Game of Thrones spinoffs, but other TV shows like Dark Winds that are growing in popularity.
Dark Winds wins two Vision Awards
Martin recently announced on his blog, Not A Blog, that his AMC show Dark Winds won two awards, which includes one for Best Show. He wrote:
“Awards season is upon us, and I am pleased to report that DARK WINDS has won two Vision Awards, given annually by the National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC).
Zahn McClarnon won for best performance in a drama, for his portrayal of Joe Leaphorn.
And DARK WINDS itself was voted the Best Drama Series.”
What is AMC’s Dark Winds about?
The AMC network’s TV series ‘Dark Winds’ is an adaptation of Tony Hilerman’s literary series ‘The Dark Wind’ for AMC+ and AMC. Zahn McClarnon, a Westworld veteran, is in charge of the show. According to the official show description:
“Based on the iconic Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman, Dark Winds is a psychological thriller that follows two Navajo police officers in the 1970s Southwest. As their search for clues in a grisly double murder case forces them to challenge their own spiritual beliefs and come to terms with the trauma of their pasts.”
