The Last of Us’ Bloater actor says Game of Thrones bosses could’ve approached season 8 differently

The tale of Game of Thrones season 8 controversy still lives in the minds of die-hard fans. It has been nearly three years since HBO’s money-making mint wrapped up filming, but people can’t stop talking about it. After all, the highly popular and record-breaking show divided its fandom with a controversial and a rather rushed-up final season. Not just the fans, but the cast of the series is split up upon the issue. The Last of Us’ Adam Basil, who played a number of roles on Game of Thrones, also has mixed feelings about the final season.

What does Adam Basil think about Game of Thrones finale?

Though Basil thinks the finale wasn’t too bad, he accepts the showrunner should have approached things differently. In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, he said, “I wasn’t too bad with it. I think it’s such a huge thing, not everyone was going to be happy with how they had to end it. Maybe they didn’t have to do this huge thing. Maybe they could’ve done the smaller style episodes and not had a two-year gap, that would’ve been good.”

What roles did Adam Basil play on Game of Thrones?

Basil has previously worked on four seasons of Game of Thrones. He played one of the first gladiators to enter the fighting pits after Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) reopens the arena in Meereen. He wore a green suit to serve as the zombie bear in season 7. He also doubled for the Hound (Rory McCann) and the Mountain (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson), and played various White Walkers.

Will we see the Bloater again in The Last of Us?

Yes, there are plenty of Bloaters running around in The Last of Us, and some are even deadlier than we saw in Episode 5. And because of his stature and experience, it is very likely Basil will return as the Bloater in The Last of Us.
