Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey sued by former agency over unpaid commission fees
Great franchises like the MCU and Game of Thrones have a lot of machinery that works in tandem to bring out the amazing shows that we witness on-screen. A lot goes behind these processes off-screen, and most of the time the viewers are unknown to them. Game of Thrones star Lena Headey was also going to be a part of the MCU in the upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder, but for some reason, her role in the movie was cut. However, her old agency has had some problems with her on similar issues.
Headey is being sued by Troika, her former UK agency, over unpaid commission fees tying back to multiple projects. One of those projects is Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder. According to Variety, she reportedly had an undisclosed role in the next MCU outing, but it doesn’t appear in the final cut of the movie. As stated by Troika, Headey reportedly owes the agency over $500,000 USD for her earnings from Thor: Love and Thunder, even though her role isn’t actually used in the film.
As a result, Troika has sued her for $1.5 million. In her defense, Headey claims she never signed any contract with Troika or with Duff, and that both parties were acting on an oral agreement formed when Duff was still at Lou Carl Associates in the late 1990s. Her filings also point out that Troika was never Headey’s sole agent, as she is also represented by CAA in the U.S.
