Game of Thrones has been having a good awards season with what is its final run. The latest awards news has the show winning awards for audio and costumes. Let’s get into it!
To begin with the Cinema Audio Society awards were recently announced. Game of Thrones won in the “Television Series — 1 Hour” category for “The Bells“. The winning team included Ronan Hill, Simon Kerr and Daniel Crowley; rerecording mixers Onnalee Blank and Mathew Waters; and foley mixer Brett Voss. Here are all the nominees for the category:
Game of Thrones: “The Bells” Peaky Blinders: “Mr. Jones” Stranger Things: “Chapter Eight: The Battle of Starcourt” The Handmaid’s Tale: “Heroic” Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: “Persona Non Grata”
This does not come as a surprise given that the production quality of the show was the one aspect of Season 8 that was not criticised by fans or critics. The show was as good as ever in that aspect, and audio was definitely one of the high points.
Next up the costume designers Costume Designers Guild Awards word game of thrones one thanks to Michele Clapton. She took home the award for “Excellence in Sci-Fi / Fantasy Television” for the series finale, “The Iron Throne“. Here’s what the nominations looked like:
Carnival Row: “Aisling” — Joanna Eatwell
