Gwendoline Christie predicted Game of Thrones ending a full two years ago!
Are we sure Gwendoline Christie is not secretly a greenseer? Because she seems to have correctly predicted the Game of Thrones ending a full two years ago – before even the scripts for Season 8 were developed! She made those predictions in an interview with Extra in 2017, a clip of which is now wildly circulating on the web.
In hindsight, it seems even more impressive because a lot of us did not see that coming. By ‘that’, I mean Brandon Stark being chosen King by the Lords of Westeros.
Take a look at the interview below.
Coster-Waldau thought that the two people most likely to ‘win’ the Game of Thrones are Daenerys Targaryen and the Night King. But Gwendoline thought that was too predictable. As she says, “But don’t you think it’s going to be someone out of left field? Don’t you feel that those seem like the obvious choice? And what we know about the show is that it constantly surprises you. I’m wondering if it might be Bran.” She also provides reasoning for this prediction: “Just because we keep seeing the world from his perspective, don’t we? We keep seeing the visions. So, is he in the future projecting in the past?”
Now, the back-to-the-future part of it didn’t add up. But Christie was bang on in that there’s a link between Bran’s visions and Westeros’ future. Bran’s visions had glimpses of many recent events, including the one with a Dragon over King’s Landing.
Coster-Waldau is pretty dismissive of that idea though, he says, “The Three-Eyed Raven as the king? No, it doesn’t make sense.” Well, this isn’t the first time Jaime Lannister was wrong about something, or the last.
