Peter Dinklage and Jamie Dornan to star in a new HBO movie
The cast of Game of Thrones has some great actors, and there is no doubt that Peter Dinklage, who plays the role of Tyrion Lannister, is one of them. Now, it has been revealed that he will be working with HBO on a project that isn’t Game of Thrones. Peter is all set to play the lead in a new HBO film about the French actor and painter, Hervé Villechaize, directed by Sacha Gervasi. Read on!
A new exclusive report by Deadline says that Peter Dinklage will play the role of Hervé Villechaize, while Fifty Shades actor Jamie Dornan has been cast as journalist Danny Tate. The movie, titledMy Dinner with Hervé, will be based on a story Gervasi co-wrote with Sean Macaulay. Dinklage, Gervasi and Steven Zaillian will serve a executive producers, along with Richard Middleton, Ross Katz and Jessica de Rothschild, while Garrett Basch and David Ginsberg serve as co-executive producers. The official description reads :
“…centers on an unlikely friendship that evolves over one wild night in L.A. between a struggling journalist, Danny Tate (Dornan), and actor Hervé Villechaize (Dinkage), the world’s most famous gun-toting dwarf, resulting in life-changing consequences for both.”
Hervé Villechaize is famous for his portrayal of Nick Nack in the 1974 Bond flick, The Man with the Golden Gun, and his role in the TV show, Fantasy Island, as Mr. Roarke’s assistant. He committed suicide in 1993, at the age of 50. Gervasi conducted the last ever inter view with Villechaize, before his death. Gervasi has been quoted saying that Hervé was a “unique misfit trying to find his place in the world.”
My Dinner with Hervé has been in development for a long time, with Gervasi and Dinklage having been working on documenting Villechaize’s last days based on Gervasi’s interaction with him, but the major decision they had to make was about who should play the role of Danny. With Dornan now cast in the role, the rest should go smoothly.
No filming or release dates have been announced, yet, but we expect more information to come out soon. Are you looking forward to watching Peter Dinklage play Hervé Villechaize? Tell us in the comments, down below!
