Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand) becomes second Game of Thrones star to test positive for Coronavirus
Coronavirus is spreading like wildfire throughout the world. And there’s little the authorities are able to do against its transmission from one person to another. There’s a landslide of cases with every passing day in the form of a large number of people found positive for the virus. A number of celebrities have tested positive in the last few weeks. The most recent is the Game of Thrones actor Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand). She shared the news of her Coronavirus infection on Instagram. Her post came right after the cancellation of her ongoing West End play, The Seagull with Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen).
Indira informed everyone about her coronavirus infection through her Instagram post. “I am in bed with it and it’s not nice. Stay safe and healthy and be kind to your fellow people,” she wrote. She is the second Game of Thrones actor to get afflicted by the novel coronavirus, after Kristofer Hivju. Hivju too let us know about his condition through a concerned post on Instagram. Other celebrities like Idris Elba, Tom Hanks, his wife Rita Wilson have earlier tested positive for the virus.
Varma’s post was accompanied by photos with the team of The Seagull, including Emilia Clarke. Before telling us about her condition, she expressed displeasure towards the suspension of shows all over the place. “So sad our and so many other shows around the world have gone dark affected by the COVID-19 pandemic”. However, she was hopeful that the shows would return and further asked for everyone’s support. “We hope to be back soon and urge you all (and the govt) to support us when we do.”
Indira Varma and Emilia Clarke’s play The Seagull started its run on March 11 at the Playhouse Theatre London with shows till May 30. It stands canceled at the moment due to the emergency of the coronavirus outbreak.
If you’re young and healthy, we urge you to be a warrior for those who might already have some health problems. Practice personal hygiene and social distancing to protect yourself and those around you. WHO and other health agencies have issued guidelines. Please take them seriously!
We wish a speedy recovery to Indira Varma, Kristofer Hivju and everyone who is suffering from this illness. Kindly, be aware!
