Game of Thrones wins an Artios Award from the Casting Society of America

Game of Thrones’ final season has continued its winning run at the awards. After winning the costume and audio awards recently, it has now won an award at Artios Awards from the Casting Society of America. Despite receiving the extreme reactions to the final season, the show has continued making waves at the awards. Read on to find out more!

As per Variety, in the recently concluded 35th Annual Artios Awards, Game of Thrones took home an Artio Award for Casting Excellence in a TV Drama. The Casting Society of America honoured Game of Thrones casting directors Nina Gold, Robert Sterne and Carla Stronge for their excellent casting of the show. All of them took home an award each for their invaluable contribution towards the show.

One thing we all can agree on is the fact that it had one of the greatest ensembles of the cast ever for a TV series. The show consisted of actors of the highest caliber. While somebody like Peter Dinklage has frequently won awards, the likes of Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke have gone on to sign big assignments even after the show. The younger members of the cast, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner too have gone on to become huge stars.

For any other show to pull off such a cast it will have to match the magnitude of Thrones. The star cast that Gold, Sterne, and Stronge managed to get in for the show is unlikely to be matched by another show soon.

Well, how about that? Game of Thrones has continued its award-winning run. Do you think it is going to continue winning awards at Directors Guild Awards and Writers Guild of America Awards scheduled on Saturday? Let us know in the comments below!

Before anyone begins to outrage, there are justifiable reasons why the final season of Thrones managed to win big. Parrot Analytics takes into account not only video viewing but viewer engagement across multiple platforms: Social media, peer-to-peer protocols, photo sharing, blogging, and research platforms.

We all can agree that when it comes to dissecting/discussing any show, no other series comes even close to Thrones. The final season was discussed for all year round in 2019 and if we go by the trend, it is not going to stop anytime soon.

Other notable winners at the awards were Stranger Things, The Big Bang Theory, Disney’s The Mandalorian and Peaky Blinders.

Well, there you have it, let us know your reactions in the comments below!

Game of Thrones Season 8 wins costume and audio awards

Game of Thrones has been having a good awards season with what is its final run. The latest awards news has the show winning awards for audio and costumes. Let’s get into it!

To begin with the Cinema Audio Society awards were recently announced. Game of Thrones won in the “Television Series — 1 Hour” category for “The Bells“. The winning team included Ronan Hill, Simon Kerr and Daniel Crowley; rerecording mixers Onnalee Blank and Mathew Waters; and foley mixer Brett Voss. Here are all the nominees for the category:

Game of Thrones: “The Bells”
Peaky Blinders: “Mr. Jones”
Stranger Things: “Chapter Eight: The Battle of Starcourt”
The Handmaid’s Tale: “Heroic”
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: “Persona Non Grata”

This does not come as a surprise given that the production quality of the show was the one aspect of Season 8 that was not criticised by fans or critics. The show was as good as ever in that aspect, and audio was definitely one of the high points.

Next up the costume designers Costume Designers Guild Awards word game of thrones one thanks to Michele Clapton. She took home the award for “Excellence in Sci-Fi / Fantasy Television” for the series finale, “The Iron Throne“. Here’s what the nominations looked like:

Carnival Row: “Aisling” — Joanna Eatwell
Game of Thrones: “The Iron Throne” — Michele Clapton
The Handmaid’s Tale: “Household” — Natalie Bronfman
A Series of Unfortunate Events: “Penultimate Peril: Part 2” — Cynthia Summers
Watchmen: “It’s Summer and We’re Running Out of Ice” — Sharen Davis

There’s no doubt that the costumes for Season 8 were great as well and we can safely say that Season 8 had some of the best work done by Clapton on the show.

Well, there are still a few awards left to go for this season and we are sure that Game of Thrones will lend wins in at least a few of those. What do you guys think? Talk to us in the comments down below!
