Game Of Thrones director reveals why Jon Snow didn’t give Ghost a goodbye pet

This is why Jon Snow didn't give Ghost a goodbye pet

That Jon Snow doesn’t give the good boy Ghost enough attention has been a point of contention among fans for a while now. Fans never really got the reunion they expected between Jon and his trusty direwolf in season eight. And now, to add insult to the injury, Jon’s parcelled off Ghost to the North with Tormund and his lot without so much as a pat in episode four and fans weren’t happy about it.

Fans react to Jon's rude goodbye to his direwolf Ghost

We finally know why Jon dispatched off his loyal canine with only a wistful look. The show’s creators have time and again maintained that modelling a CGI direwolf isn’t the easiest task in the world, given their similarities to an actual wolf. In an interview with Huffington Post, Game of Thrones visual effects supervisor Joe Bauer had previously said that real wolves have to be filmed and scaled up to create direwolves, and wolves sadly “only behave in certain ways.” Also, given the amount of screentime the dragons get, the CGI budget must look just a little bit woeful.

Speaking to Huffington Post, episode four Director David Nutter said, “Since the direwolves are kind of CG creations, we felt it best to keep it as simple as possible. And I think that it played out much more powerfully that way.”

Nutter said that the decision to keep Ghost to the side played out better, since this gave Jon a chance to bid a proper farewell to Gilly and Tormund.

“Then he just walks off by himself, he turns to Ghost and has this moment with Ghost that I thought was very, very powerful,” said Nutter.

THIS WOLF STAYED WITH YOU AFTER YOU DIED, FOUGHT FOR YOU DURING THE WORLD’S DARKEST HOUR, AND JON CAN’T BE BOTHERED TO PET HIM? HAIL CERSEI.

Not having Jon give a proper good bye to his loyal and beloved pet really set his character back in a lot of people’s eyes. Frankly, this seems like a lousy and lazy excuse.

I think Jon Snow will live, but he will go live with the Tormaund and the free folk. Once Arya kills Daenerys he will turn down the crown and/or possibly free the lands of monarchy rule.

Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa opens up about life with family

Real-life is often different from reel life. The celebrities we idolize often face regular problems like normal people. We might want a life like theirs, but ignore the struggles they had to face. For example, Game of Thrones macho man Jason Momoa. Though he appears fearsome as Khal Drogo and majestic as Aquaman on-screen, he’s completely different in real life. The 41-year-old actor recently opened up about his life off-screen in an interview with Men’s Health magazine.

The Game of Thrones star revealed, “I may look big and tough, but I’m not. I’m nothing like Khal Drogo. I’m not even the king of my own house! I’m absolutely terrified of my wife.”

Momoa loves his family. He said, “We’ve all gotten so much closer. My wife is very sophisticated and smart and our kids and I are kind of like animals that need to be trained a little better. I’m constantly a work in progress, and I’ve just been trying to get better as a father and a husband.”

Jason has been through a lot, without letting anyone know about his troubles. He recently revealed in an interview how his family was facing financial troubles after Game of Thrones. It is tough to imagine someone as popular as he went broke. Things got better for him after the Justice League.

Jason Momoa describes Yoga as ‘the hardest thing' he’s ever done

Game of Thrones achieved great success and popularity in the past decade. The show set the bar for television series in terms of its story, scenery, CGI and battle scenes. However, it was also famous for another reason, a collection of well-built, tight and ripped bodies on-set. They caused awe amongst the audience, even encouraging them to get their own set of 6-pack-abs. Game of Thrones’ handsome hunk Jason Momoa, shared his secrets to a fit body with Men’s Health magazine.

The 41-year-old actor revealed his workout regime in an interview with the renowned magazine. However, he was terrified of doing Yoga. He said,  “So I tried yoga the other day, and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I’d rather squat a car. Climbing El Capitan would be easier than doing two hours of yoga. I can’t bend over anymore! My hamstrings are so tight. It’s pathetic.”

Momoa added, “I was in a yoga class with these older ladies in Topanga and everyone was just holding their arms up and I was like, ‘This is so hard!’”.

He also talked about his love for outdoor activities, “I rock climb a lot. Maybe I’m an ape. I love the way it feels. I like being upside down. I always loved climbing trees as a kid and swinging in the breeze.”

Momoa had revealed how his family was facing financial troubles in an interview earlier. What do you think of Momoa’s regime? Tell us in the comments below!

Game of Thrones’ Iain Glenn discusses the dark side of cycling as shown in his film ‘The Racer’

Game of Thrones' Iain Glenn turns to cycling's dark side in The Racer

It is always fun to see our favourite actors play out radically different roles. Iain Glenn, who played the honourable and heroic Ser Jorah Mormont, was seen playing a not-so-heroic role in The Racer.

Directed by Kieron J Walsh, the movie circles around a series of scandals that took place at the 1998 Tour de France. The film was the opening film for the Cork International Film Festival. Though fictional, The Racer shows the dangerous lengths teams will go to for a competitive edge. Iain Glen plays the team’s Mr Fixit with the syringes and vials.

Iain Glenn talked to the Irish Examiner about the movie, “I studied documentaries and a couple of films just to get to know the world it occupied. What drew me to the script was it didn’t hold back its punches. I thought it was a very frank and honest, quite a wry, insightful look at a particularly bad period for drug abuse within the sport.”

He continued, “That tour became known as the Tour de Drugs because of the amount of drugs that were going down at the time. The people within the team and my character, certainly within the context of the film, didn’t have any great qualms about it – everyone was doing it and we were doing it as well. That was the norm. It’s ironic to think that (Lance) Armstrong was about to enjoy his great stretch as being the world-leading cyclist and he won so many tours in a row and this was prior to that. During Armstrong’s time, everyone thought the sport had got its act together a bit more.”

Earlier, Kit Harington was seen playing a shady role in Criminals Season 2. What do you think about the movie? Tell us in the comments below!
