Robert Aramayo (young Ned Stark) shines as Elrond in first images from Amazon’s Lord of The Rings series
Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is one of the highly anticipated shows of 2022, and is currently a prime prospect for HBO’s plans to expand the Martinverse. However, the series is going to face tough competition in 2022, as the year has been marked for the release of several other promising shows, including Amazon’s Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power TV series. It stars two Game of Thrones stars in lead roles, and the first official images from the set have been released.
In a series of pictures that were posted on Twitter via Vanity Fair, fans get to see the first look at the highly awaited fantasy series, which serves as a prequel to both The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit movies series. There are several pictures along with a little bit of info about the characters and the show itself. Let’s have a look:
#TheRingsOfPower, set within Tolkien’s Second Age, will juggle 22 stars and multiple storylines—from deep within the dwarf mines to the elven kingdom of Lindon. Here, the adventures of the fellowship are still some 2,000 years in the future.

Robert Aramayo plays Elrond, the elven statesman who is just beginning to build his reputation—starting with mending the relationship between his people and the dwarves of Khazad-dûm.

In a bold move, #TheRingsOfPower condenses Tolkien’s Middle-earth timeline and adds entirely new characters. Sophia Nomvete’s dwarven princess, Disa, and Ismael Cruz Córdova’s Silvan elf, Arondir, broaden the notion of who lives in Middle-earth.

At its core, #TheRingsOfPower takes its biggest cue from the heart of Tolkien’s books. “It’s about friendship,” says McKay. “It’s about brotherhood and underdogs overcoming great darkness.”

Special focus was given to Robert Aramayo’s character Elrond, who is the younger version of the leader of elves we have seen in The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit movies. Aramayo has previously played a younger version of Ned Stark on Game of Thrones. His Thrones co-star Joseph Mawle who played the character of Benjen Stark, will be joining him and will be seen playing the role of the main villain of the first season.
