Pilou Asbæk says Euron Greyjoy will make Ramsay Bolton look like a little kid and other news from season 7
Game of Thrones Season 7 is getting closer, with less than a month left to the premiere, set for July 16th. The hype around the new season is at an all time high, and it seems like everybody around is helping in driving it up even more. We had recently reported about how a bit in Empire Magazine’s Game of Thrones spread revealed Jon Snow‘s birth name. We now have the full story, and it has revealed quite a bit of new information. Read on!

Now let’s talk about the important bits. First off, there is a very subtle bit of information which has been slipped in, and it has to do with none other than The Hound. The in-studio scenes needed the cast to be in winter-wear in a heavily lot environment, and thus a really hot one. Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth) revealed that some of the cast members got vests with cold water being circulated within, to keep them cool, and that Rory McCann (The Hound), really appreciated that. Cunningham said :
“That poor man wears the full f**king armour and has to fight. I said, ‘You need to get that vest on.’ He said, ‘What f**king vest?!’ And when he put it on and plugged it in, he almost started weeping.”
Now, the idea of the Hound in a full armour isn’t obvious from where his story left off last season, so we’ll take this opportunity to hope that we might be seeing Cleganebowl sometime soon! He is also quoted saying later that he’s sore from his Season 7 run, which means that we’ll be seeing the Hound in action this season!
Next up, is the psycho of the season : Euron Greyjoy! We did get rid of a bad guy by the name of Ramsay Bolton, last season, but it seems as though we got another one, and one that will apparently make Ramsay look like “a little kid,” said Pilou Asbæk, who plays Euron. He explained :
“The psychos I’ve encountered have so many different sides to them. So each scene I’ve done with Euron, I pick a new thing I wanna show. ‘This scene I want to be charming.’ ‘This scene I wanna be a molester.’ ‘This scene I wanna kill someone.’ After this season, Ramsay’s gonna look like a little kid.”
Ouch.
We had recently reported about how a picture that John Bradley (Samwell Tarly) recently uploaded with Kit Harington, could be hinting at a Jon-Sam reunion, but Empire says that’s not happening. John Bradley said :
“Jon and Samwell have said goodbye a lot. But you felt there was a finality to that last goodbye between them. This season I’ve never felt more cast into the wilderness, really.”
That sinks our ship!
Another important detail was confirmed here. Jim Broadbent, who was cast in Season 7 to play a maester, as we had reported, has been confirmed to play Archmaester Marwyn. There had been some speculations, but this is the closest to an official confirmation that we have gotten, yet.
Although we probably won’t see a Jon-Sam reunion, it looks like we might get a new bromance this time around. Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne) and Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) seem to be friends now! Anderson even sang a little, saying, “Podrick and G-Dubs, friends forever,” pitching their own spin-off idea. They apparently also tackle spoiler hunters by telling them there will be purple unicorns on the show! Hilarious!
Among other little bits, is an emphasis on the fact that a lot is riding on Bran Stark‘s shoulders, the rift between Cersei and Jaime, and Sansa‘s unrest with Jon getting all the northern glory. Oh, and that Ed Sheeran will be the start cameo. That’s about it! What do you think about the whole spread? Got any new speculations? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
