It has been a year of postponement and disappointment for the entertainment industry. Coronavirus outbreak has led to the postponement of many exciting projects and audiences too have been left craving for a lot more. Amidst the disappointments, a bright piece of Jason Momoa starrer Dune has arrived. We recently reported the news of the first look of the film shared by the actor. Now, Momoa has talked about the much-awaited film and his character. Read on to find out more!

As per Movieweb, Momoa recently talked to Ellen DeGeneres about his upcoming film and his role. The Game of Thrones actor was super impressed with the cast of Dune and said that he had never been part of something quite as big. He said:

“I get to play this character Duncan Idaho, who’s kind of a master swordsman who’s made the right-hand man to Duke Leto, who is Oscar Isaac’s [character]. He’s the first person to be sent out to land on Dune, and that’s when I meet the character that Javier Bardem plays. I can’t believe I had a scene with Javier Bardem!”

He likened his character to that of Han Solo, a popular character in Star Wars.

“It’s him and Timothée Chalamet, Josh Brolin, Rebecca Ferguson, and Stellan Skarsgard. It’s a pretty massive film and I get to be this little-he’s kind of the Han Solo-esque of the group. He’s kind of the rogue warrior who protects Timothée Chalamet and he serves Oscar Isaac.”

He also revealed that the film was shot in Jordan and he felt as if they were shooting on a different planet.

“We got to shoot in Wadi Rum. I’ve never seen anything like it, it was like shooting on another planet. Denis Villeneuve is shooting it, who did Sicario and Arrival. It was an honor to do that with him, and it’s a pretty stellar cast, I’ve never been a part of something so big.”

Dune star cast includes Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem. The film is going to release on December 18, 2020.

Considering the situation currently if the film manages to release this year it would be some feat. Nevertheless, let us know how excited are you about Dune in the comments below!
