Interview
Iwan Rheon talks about playing Ramsay and says he can now watch Game of Thrones without any worry
Game of Thrones Season 6 had a major focus on the big bad for the season : Ramsay Bolton. The psychopath messed with quite a few major characters on the show, including Theon Greyjoy, Sansa Stark, and Jon Snow. He finally met his end last season, and actor Iwan Rheon, who played him on the show, is still in the mind of the whole Game of Thrones fandom. In a recent interview, he discussed his run on Game of Thrones. Read on!
He discussed the horrifying scene where Ramsay rapes his bride, Sansa Stark, after their wedding. He apparently hated it, too! Iwan said :
“Some of the things were worse, particularly after the wedding – that was a really horrible thing to film. I really didn’t want to do it. It’s just that really weird thing where you can detach yourself from it because you’re reading a character, but when you actually think about it, it is pretty insane.”
He was then asked if he ever saw Ramsay Bolton being brought back to life from the dead, and he said that he doesn’t see it :
“I’d need some serious reconstructional surgery, but I can’t imagine him coming back, no.”
He went on to talk about how he felt that Ramsay was due for his depart :
“You get to a point with a character that evil and I don’t think it serves the show anymore. What are they going to do next?… It needed to end. Another villain will come in and fill that role.”
Speaking of how it was to not be on Game of Thrones, Iwan said :

“It’s weird this year not being in it, and worrying about whether I’m rubbish or not, so I can actually enjoy it, which is great. He was a great character to play and there was something quite liberating about him in a weird way.”
There are quite a few other things he talked about, so make sure you watch the full video of the chat, above! What did you think about the interview? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
