Rhaenyra returns to King’s Landing

An unexpected but futile reunion wraps up House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 3

Credits: Max

Just like her uncle/husband Daemon sneaked into the King’s Landing wrapped under a black cloak in House of the Dragon season 2’s first episode, Rhaenyra too follows the same in third. The death of Jaehaerys shook her as well, and she meets Alicent in secret. However, the meeting didn’t go exactly as planned.

The final chance for peace fizzles out

Looking at Alicent’s plight, Rhaenyra tries to reason with the dowager queen in a last bid to establish peace. Both the characters understand each other’s pain now, having lost an heir. However,  peace talks go out of window, when the matter of succession comes into discussion, as well as the true meaning of Aegon’s dream. Though Alicent doesn’t rat her out to her soldiers, she refuses to accept Rhaenyra’s words.
