George R. R. Martin’s new Wild Cards mosaic novel the Joker Moon to be released in July
HBO is trying to hone in Game of Thrones’ success by taking a deeper dive into the Martinverse. House of The Dragon is already on its way for release in 2022, with more prequel projects under development. Game of Thrones creator George R. R. Martin is really busy as well working on different projects. His most recent Wild Cards mosaic novel the Joker Moon is scheduled for release in July this year.
Martin wrote on his blog Not a Blog:
“Hey, Wild Cards fans… the moon is rising in July.
The JOKER MOON, that is. The latest Wild Cards mosaic novel, volume thirty in the overall series (but you don’t need to read the first twenty-nine to enjoy it, I promise).
Theodorus was a dreamer. As a child, he dreamt of airplanes, rockets, and outer space. When the wild card virus-transformed him into a monstrous snail centaur weighing several tons, his boyhood dreams seemed out of reach. But a Witherspoon is not so easily defeated.
Years and decades passed, and Theodorus grew to maturity and came into his fortune. . . but still his dream endured. But now when he looked upward into the night sky, he saw more than just the Moon . . . he saw a joker homeland, a refuge where the outcast children of the wild card could make a place of their own, safe from hate and harm.
An impossible dream, some said. Others, alarmed by the prospect, brought all their power to bear to oppose him. Theodorus persisted . . . never dreaming that the Moon was already inhabited.
And the Moon Maid did not want company.
Tor will be releasing the American hardcover (above) on July 6.
HarperCollins Voyager will release the British hardcover (below) on July 8.“

Game of Thrones first aired about ten years ago on 17th April 2011. The show managed to keep the audience hooked for nearly a decade. HBO is celebrating the month as the Iron anniversary. The Iron Anniversary includes a range of features and events for Game of Thrones viewers. From personalized HBO Max episode curations, a Game of Thrones ‘MaraThrone‘ and more throughout the month. Moreover, jewellery maker Fabergé released designs for an extraordinary new piece of Game of Thrones tie-in merchandise, worth £1.6m.
The valuable jewellery’s release coincides with the show’s 10th anniversary. The item is a Fabergé egg based on the dragon egg seen in the hit HBO fantasy series. Fabergé’s head designer Liisa Tallgren, in collaboration with Michele Clapton, the costume designer on Game of Thrones, designed the egg.
According to the official website, the egg is a “one-off work of art. It fuses our superior craftsmanship and artistic ingenuity with one of the 21st century’s most iconic TV series”.
“This one-of-a-kind bespoke creation is symbolic of Daenerys’ dragon eggs. Intertwining subtle nods to her stand-out costumes which celebrate the landscape around her and her evolving story arc,” adds the description.
“The design choices explain Daenerys’ journey from orphaned exile to conquering monarch. And her ongoing quest for the Iron Throne.”
The egg features a purple and silver exterior shell finished with diamonds, and a glistening crystal base. On the inside, there is a miniaturised version of the crown that Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) would have worn.

Some actors are so good at portraying a character that we end up thinking they’re born for this role. When you think of the character, that actor pops in your head first automatically. Pedro Pascal is one of the most successful actors in the entertainment industry currently. He has a number of memorable roles under his belt such as Game of Thrones’ charming Oberyn Martell. Currently, he has gained a huge fan following for playing the role of Din Djarin on The Mandalorian. With so many decade-defining roles up his sleeve, no wonder fans would love to see him more on the silver screen. Their wishes might just have been granted – Pedro reportedly signed multiple deals for multiple Mandalorian projects.
Insider Daniel Richtman has reported that Pascal has signed a new deal for multiple projects related to The Mandalorian. That will see him show up all over the small screen Star Wars universe. Taking to his Patreon account, the tipster wrote: “Pedro signed [a] huge deal to be in multiple projects as Mando.”
If Pedro in fact agreed to a new contract with Lucasfilm, it’s not going to bear any fruit for a while yet. After all, The Last of Us starts shooting in Calgary this July and isn’t set to wrap until eleven months later. The video game adaptation is the topmost priority for Pascal currently.

Game of Thrones first premiered on HBO ten years ago on April 17, 2011. The show has been dubbed as the greatest TV show of the 21st century, bagging a total of 59 Primetime Emmy Awards. The record still stands to this day. No wonder HBO is so invested in exploring the Game of Thrones universe, with several prequels in development. HBO will celebrate a decade of Game Of Thrones with its month-long event, The Iron Anniversary.
The Iron Anniversary will include a range of features and events for Game of Thrones viewers, from personalized HBO Max episode curations, a Game of Thrones ‘MaraThrone‘ and more throughout the month.
Starting Monday, HBO Max users will see a Game of Thrones Spotlight Page. The Spotlight Page will also include more than 150 behind-the-scenes videos and extras, cast interviews, clips and trailers. Later this month on April 10, HBO will begin the Game of Thrones ‘MaraThrone’. For two weeks during the MaraThrone, Games of Thrones cast members will rally on fans as they binge-watch the series for a good cause. To make the MaraThrone a little easier, superfans and influencers will receive a custom kit of essentials.
Later in the month-long celebration, HBO will gift couples who were married in Westeros-themed ceremonies. The presents will include Game of Thrones-branded barrels of wine, custom chalices, and elaborate cakes designed in partnership with local bakeries.
