George R. R. Martin confirms exactly how many Game of Thrones prequels are under development

Game of Thrones Season 7 finally aired this Sunday, and now we will have to wait for season 8, which will not only have only 6 episodes, but will probably not arrive before 2019. However, there is a silver lining to this little cloud, and that is that even though Game of Thrones is about to end, it will be followed up by one or more spin-off series. We know that there are multiple ideas under development, but the exact number has now been confirmed by George R. R. Martin, for good. Read on!
When we first heard about it, there were said to be four prequel series under development, helmed by different writers, which include Max Borenstein, Jane Goldman, Brian Helgeland and Carly Wray, but then George said that there were, in fact, five ideas that were being developed, instead of four. Jane Goldman recently said that her prequel concept will be “recognizable as a past event”, but we don’t know much more about any of the prequels. Now, George has once again confirmed that there are five shows under development, erasing all doubt. He cleared it out on his Not A Blog :
“Oh, about those successor shows…
‘Nuff said.”
That’s as clear as it gets. Apart from that, we also know that Robert’s Rebellion and Dunk and Egg are not among the ideas being developed. If we were to guess, we would say that the History of the Targaryen kings could be one of the ideas being developed. What do you think? Hit us with your predictions, in the comments, down below!
