Game of Thrones star Tom Wlaschiha (Jaqen H’ghar) to star in Lasse Hallström’s ‘Hilma’
Some stars have such an enigmatic aura, you’re left mesmerized by them even if it’s for a significantly small role. They become the face of the character for years to come, and Game of Thrones had plenty of such characters. Tom Wlaschiha who played Jaqen H’ghar, one of the most mysterious characters in the show, recently appeared in the fourth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things as a Russian guard who helps Hopper escape. Wlaschiha has grabbed yet another role in an upcoming project that will further expand his acting portfolio in the coming days.
Tom Wlaschiha and his Game of Thrones co-star Jazzy de Lisser (Tansy) have joined the cast of Viaplay’s major English-language original feature Hilma. The film is written and directed by Lasse Hallström, the Oscar-nominated director of films like The Cider House Rules and My Life as a Dog. Hilma is a biopic, which explores the life of revolutionary Swedish artist and feminist pioneer Hilma af Klint, which is scheduled for this fall in theaters and on Viaplay, Scandinavia’s leading streaming service.
Wlaschiha portrays Rudolf Steiner, the Austrian artist and founder of the anthroposophical spiritual movement. Steiner became a key figure and mentor for Hilma af Klint who created more than a thousand striking paintings, sketches and watercolors that remained largely unknown until decades after her death.
