Game of Thrones showrunner David Benioff says the cast only “think they know the end”

Game of Thrones is a show that has just been a massive series of cliffhangers, and the biggest one has been: How does it end? This show probably has the highest level of curiosity around its climax of any recent franchises. While the stars of the site have been teasing the end in interviews for a while, apparently they might know how the show ends themselves, if showrunner David Benioff is to be believed. Read on!

In a recent bit with Digital Spy, and other press, Benioff revealed that there might be more secrets kept than we know. He said:

“The actors think they know the end, because they were all here for the table read. But that’s not to say that we don’t employ deception at times.”

Since the massive leaks that Game of Thrones Season 7 had, HBO has been extra vigilant in ensuring that everything stays under the wraps for the big conclusion. Looks like they kicked it up a notch, and even keep the cast in the dark this time. Benioff continued:

“We have had some success in terms of hiding things, but the actors definitely all believe that they know where this season is going to end.”

Well, Benioff sounds pretty confident with that statement. However, it could also be a last minute attempt to throw fans off the scent of any tiny spoilers that could have come from cast interviews. What do you guys think? Talk to us in the comments, down below!

Our engagement with a film or TV series is usually limited to the story in front of the screen. But it always fascinates us to know more about the details and workings of our favorite movies and shows. That information becomes all the more interesting when it comes from one of the cast members whom we have seen charming us so very often. Their thoughts and opinions give us much better insights into the worlds that we see on-screen and around us. Nathalie Emmanuel, who played the graceful and strong Missandei on Game of Thrones, talked to Vogue recently. She discussed landing and preparing for her role, bonding with her partner-in-crime, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen); who was one of the few female actors on the HBO show. And the relevance of the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests. Read on to find out more.

Nathalie’s entry into the biggest show on the planet required getting proficient with languages. “I found a casting for Missandei and I pretty much gave it all I had – watching millions of videos of translators in preparation,” she said. “Missandei is obviously this great linguist; and I became really committed to learning Valyrian – high Valyrian and low Valyrian; which are as different as Latin and Italian.” Well, it was certainly hard to notice that difference for the viewers. When she took it way too seriously, Dan Weiss and David Benioff (creators) told her that she would be fine as there was literally only one person who knew the language perfectly; David J Peterson, the guy who created the languages for the TV show. But Nathalie persevered anyway. “I would be like ‘I know, but I’m still going to get it right’,” she said.

When one comes to think of it, it was Missandei’s death and her last words (“Dracarys”) which proved to be the final trigger for the Mother of Dragons to go all fire and blood over King’s Landing. This was in line with the journey of these two characters together. Dany freed Missandei from the clutches of slavery; and since then, the woman from Naath stood firmly by Khaleesi’s side through all the high and low tides. So, one could wonder, did the two get along well on sets?

“Emilia and I got on like a house on fire from the beginning. When I joined the cast [in season 3], she had already been shooting Game of Thrones for a few years, and she was definitely ready to have some female energy around her. She and I always looked out for each other. If you’re the only girls on a male-dominated set, it bonds you in a certain way. For example, in my first season, my costume was pretty revealing; and there was an incident with an extra who made a comment about it on set – I mean, typical – and Emilia straightaway had my back. It got handled.” Now, that’s real fire!

It’s really good to know that the duo shared an equally amazing comradery off-screen. However, the on-screen killing of Missandei had created quite an uproar regarding the fate of the only major female non-white character on the show. Plus, it raised concerns about the overall representation of the people of color, which is awfully low. Nathalie had an indulging and thoughtful take on the matter.

“I loved that character, and I wish she had had a happy ending – but Westeros is this brutal, heartless world, so you have to keep that in mind. When it comes down to it, the backlash stems from the fact that when there’s so few non-white characters on-screen, a death like that registers as a massive loss.” Moreover, people’s reaction made her ponder more seriously. “It definitely caused me to reflect a lot more – about race and diversity more generally. At the end of the day, if there’s ever a show on the level of Game of Thrones again, representation has to be part of the conversation from the beginning.

That way, there’s no single person who has to represent every other person of color. It’s a conversation I used to have a lot with Jacob [Anderson], who played Grey Worm, the only other major non-white character in the series. We were always really conscious of how much our being part of Game of Thrones mattered to people. It made us really protective of Missandei and Grey Worm”. It would be absolutely safe to say that the two were very important to all of us; or at least to those who echoed with their ideas of loyalty and freedom.

She also took an active part in the recent Black Lives Matter protests that caught on after the death of an African-American, George Floyd at the hands of white policemen. In addition, she joined the Black Trans Lives Matter marches as well. “It felt cathartic, to march with my people; for us to be angry together – and to uplift each other,” she said.

The English actress features on Quibi’s new action-comedy series, Die Hart. Starring Kevin Hart, John Travolta, and Nathalie Emmanuel, it premiered on the OTT platform on July 20. She will also appear in the upcoming action film, F9 (Fast and Furious franchise) alongside Vin Diesel, John Cena, and Charlize Theron; which is due to release on April 2, 2021.

As the world adapts to the problems of COVID-19, work is resuming slowly but steadily. Workplaces of high density are still not operating properly, with only a small percent of the workforce back in the offices. While the tech industry can afford the work-from-home routine for its projects, it’s just not possible for the film/entertainment industry to function like that. Real-time filming has come to a halt for some period now, and only pre and post-production work seems like the possibility. So, it has helped at least those projects which had completed shooting before the lockdowns kicked in. In that spirit, we have some good news. Game of Thrones star Kit Harington (Jon Snow) has let us know that Marvel’s The Eternals has finished its filming schedule. Thus, the key film in Phase four of MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) may sick to its original release date in 2021.

Kit Harington on #TheEternals

“it’s done…I don’t know what’s happening on anything right now”

— EᗰIᒪIᗩ ᑕᒪᗩᖇKE | 🅴🆃🅴🆁🅽🅰🅻🆂 (@purple_dwagon) May 26, 2020

Harington plays Dane Whitman, aka the Black Knight, in The Eternals; which would most likely be the 25th superhero film in the MCU. In a discussion on Twitter, he shared the current update on the film. “Well, that’s done, that’s filmed,” Kit said. However, that’s the extent of his knowledge regarding the film’s situation. Since the effects of the pandemic have been varying and unpredictable in many cases, it’s tough to be sure. “It’s just…God knows what happened, or what’s going on with it, I have no idea. I don’t know what’s happening with anything right now,” the English actor admitted.

Kit is not the only Game of Thrones star in the cast of The Eternals; there is also Richard Madden (Robb Stark) who plays Ikaris, one of the Eternals. Moreover, the film has a rich cast in Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, and many more. The fourth phase of MCU has a variety of films and TV series lined up; which would carry the baton of the Marvel Comics forward after the events of Avengers: Endgame. The Eternals is set to release on February 12, 2021, in the United States. We hope it stays on course.

“How far will you go to protect something you love?” It sounds like a dramatic line from a book, film, or show. And it could very well be! But here, we’re talking about the extreme lengths to which HBO went in order to protect the secrets of the final season of Game of Thrones during its filming. There was a long gap of almost two years between the airing of the seventh and the eighth season. So, it was quite obvious that people did as much as they could to fish out the details about the finale of perhaps the most-talked-about TV series ever. Things did leak but HBO took every measure possible to preserve the secrecy. Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) revealed the security steps taken during the filming of a very important scene from the final episode of GoT. Read on to find out more. Spoilers ahead.

This scene featured the Stark siblings together for one last time on the show. The scene on the dock where Arya, Sansa, and Bran bid their farewells to Jon before he left for the Wall. Bran had already become the King of the Six Kingdoms; Sansa the Queen of the North; Arya had killed the Night King and was heading West; and Jon would spend the rest of his days beyond the Wall after having killed Daenerys. Thus, too many secrets went into the making of that moment on the dock. So, for that highly-charged scene filmed in Dubrovnik, Croatia, Isaac told that the filming location seemed like a “CIA site”.

“It was ridiculous, the security and secrecy,” he said. We have heard similar things about the security measures from other actors as well. “When we shot in Dubrovnik for that scene where we’re saying goodbye to Jon Snow, I’ve never experienced anything like that; it was like being a secret agent. We came into the country on a chartered flight so nobody would see us, we stayed in this hotel and they booked out the entire hotel just for us. We weren’t allowed to go out, we couldn’t walk outside,” he described.

But that’s not all, the ‘dock-scene day’ amped the security even more. “On that day, HBO rented out every single apartment and every single hotel room that could possibly overlook where we were shooting. We had coast guards patrolling just outside in the water to check no boats were coming by”. Take a breath, it goes on further. “When we were coming in and out of cars we had to be covered in coats; and when we flew back, we were the last people on the flight and we had to sneak in.” It resembles a top-secret mission indeed.

This was all because Game of Thrones enjoyed huge popularity among the masses for almost a decade. “It was really amazing that people loved this story so much and were so desperate to get any nugget of information. You had a pinch-yourself-moment every day,” Hempstead Wright said.

As to whether he foresaw his rise to the throne, the 21-year-old actor said, “I didn’t see it coming at all. A lot of the time it was fans and friends talking and saying ‘I feel like it’s got to be Bran’ and I said ‘You are so wrong, it’ll be someone else.’ Even when I read the script I thought, ‘Is this really true?’ I wasn’t entirely sure, but I was pretty sure it wasn’t Bran. I thought it was going to be an obvious one, maybe Sansa. (But) no complaints there. It couldn’t have gone any better for me. It went badly for other people.”

It’s crazy how time flies on the wings of a raven. Game of Thrones ended more than a year ago. And it feels like just yesterday when we were speculating what course would the final season take. But we won’t go into all of that; we’ve done that so many times and there’s no point drawing fresh blood from an old/nearly healed wound. We’re happy that Brandon Stark sat on the throne; because who better to lead the realm than someone who knows all the mistakes of the history; plus, can watch over his kingdoms in real-time and has got no great desire to rule. All hail Bran the Broken!

Turns out The Simpsons predicted the fate of King's Landing two years ago

Game of Thrones Season 8 episode 5, “The Bells” embraced a big character arc for one of its biggest characters. Daenerys Targaryen became the Mad Queen, and unleashed fury on Cersei Lannister and her capital, King’s Landing. It turns out that The Simpsons actually predicted it a while ago. Read on.

In “The Bells” we saw Daenerys spare no mercy for the arguably morally dirty city of King’s Landing. Even after the city surrendered, and the bells were rung, Daenerys went on a rampage to burn them all. Turns out, the loved animated sitcom, which is also famous for predicting just all kinds of events, also predicted the fate of King’s Landing, back in 2017.

In the first episode of The Simpsons Season 29, which was titled The Serfsons, we saw The Simpsons set in an alternate reality that was pretty much a parody of Game of Thrones. There are White Walkers, magic necklaces, and of course, dragons. The trope is that in the end, we see the Simpsons look, as the dragon burns the city to the ground. Very much like Drogon razed King’s Landing to the ground.

Check out the clips in this video montage:

A few months ago, Game of Thrones actress Esmé Bianco filed a federal lawsuit against Marilyn Manson accusing him of rape and other acts of sexual violence. Marilyn Manson’s lawyers have denied all claims and said all the stories were forged by the actress. Recently, the court has denied the dismissal request put forward by Manson’s lawyers, meaning Bianco can move forward with the case.

Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha of the U.S. District Court of California denied Manson’s attempt to have Bianco’s claims dismissed based on the statute of limitations, court documents revealed Thursday. Manson has 14 days to respond to each of Bianco’s claims.

A reasonable jury could find that the effects of Warner’s alleged unconscionable acts, including the perceived threat to Plaintiff’s safety, immigration status, and career, persisted years after her last contact with Warner,” Aenlle-Rocha wrote in his court address.

Bianco first came forward on Feb. 10, as more than a dozen other women also made allegations against Manson. The lawsuit lays out Bianco’s allegations in similarly shocking detail. She alleges that Manson — whose legal name is Brian Warner — raped her in May 2011. Bianco also alleges that he repeatedly used drugs, force and threats to coerce her into other sexual acts. She accuses him of spanking, biting, cutting and whipping her without her consent during sex acts.

New House of The Dragon leaks might be showing the first look at Daemon Targaryen’s first wife

Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is moving fast with its production, and we can expect a spring release in 2022. Most of the main characters have been cast, and HBO has officially declared who’s playing who in the much-awaited prequel. With set pictures leaking quite often on the internet, the fans are getting a glimpse of more cast members in action. Recently, another rather unknown member of the House of The Dragon cast came into the limelight, via a leaked picture from the Aldershot set posted by Portal House of The Dragon Brasil.

⚠| Quem será que são esses personagens? 👀#HouseOfTheDragon

— Portal House of the Dragon Brasil (@PortalHOTD) September 28, 2021

One of the most common theories about the cast member in question is that she’s playing Prince Daemon Targaryen’s first wife Rhea Royce. This is how the character’s wiki describes her:

In 97 AC, Queen Alysanne Targaryen wed her grandson, Prince Daemon Targaryen, to Lady Rhea Royce, the heir to Runestone. Although the marriage was a fine, rich match, the marriage was not a success. Daemon found the Vale of Arryn little to his liking and grew bored. He soon developed a dislike for his wife, holding no love or affection toward Rhea, referring to her as his bronze bitch, a mocking reference to the ancient armour of the Royces. Rhea likewise had no love for Daemon, and they were soon estranged.”

Well, the armour certainly checks out, but other details about the character are currently under wraps. Who do you think the character from the recent leaks is? Tell us in the comments below!

First Look at Daemon Targaryen’s fabled Valyrian steel sword Dark Sister from the set of House of The Dragon!

Filming for Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is moving very swiftly, as evident from the frequent leaks we’re witnessing with every passing day. Though HBO has been mum about revealing any more info about the show, these periodic leaks are causing waves of excitement amongst the fans. Recently, a few more pictures from the production set were leaked. And we finally have a first look at Daemon Targaryen’s fabled Valyrian Steel sword the Dark Sister.

In one of the photos, Matt Smith, who’s playing Daemon Targaryen on the show, can be seen walking on the beach, his platinum blonde wig blowing in the wind as he rests one of his hands on his belt buckle while carrying his sword behind him.

Another image shows him in what looks like a melancholy state, kneeling in the sea with his shoulders hunched and his head bowed down as his sword stands upright in the sand.

The last of the photos show him lying on the sand, while Dark Sister is still stuck in the sand while Matt talks to a crew member.

This might be a soul-searching moment for Daemon Targaryen, since no other cast members are seen around him as he takes a stroll along the beach.

What do you think of the design of Dark Sister? Talk to us in the comments below!

Filming for Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is moving very swiftly, as evident from the frequent leaks we’re witnessing with every passing day. Though HBO has been mum about revealing any more info about the show, these periodic leaks are causing waves of excitement amongst the fans, as they’re left wondering and speculating who’s who in the new set pictures. Fans have been wondering for a while about some of the key characters that have not been announced yet. Recently, a few more pictures were leaked, depicting a scene being filmed involving a young Rhaenyra Targaryen and Laenor Velaryon.

We already know actress Milly Alcock is playing the younger version of Rhaenyra, as it was announced officially a while ago. However, this is the first time anyone has ever seen Laenor Velaryon in action, played by actor Theo Nate. Nate is a budding actor whose acting credits include Time (2021), a show starring Sean Bean.

Rhaenyra and Laenor were married at a young age, so the leaked pictures that have been circulating on the internet must be from around that time. Also, Laenor dies young in the books, after the couple have their children. So maybe Rhaenyra is seeing him off for the last time at the beach?

What are your speculations about the scene being filmed? Talk to us in the comments below!

It has recently been confirmed that the production for Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon has returned to Cornwall. Several photos of the shoot were leaked recently, which included what looked like a huge huge battle sequence as well as the first look at Rhaenys Velaryon, Laenor Velaryon and a young Rhaenyra Targaryen. Fans of the fantasy epic might be psyched, but the neighbours to the show’s production site not so much.

A holiday park in Cornwall has complained that nearby filming for the Game Of Thrones spin-off House Of The Dragon has driven away their guests. The owners of The Meadow Holiday Park, who are neighbours to the show’s production site, have now said that they have lost business on account of the noise from production, which took place between 5 am and 10 pm.

Every time the National Trust rent out their car park for a lot of money we get disturbed,” owner Krys Humphrey explained to Cornwall Live. “The car park is quite big and they could easily put the generators and lorries on the far side of the car park which would make things better.”

She continued, “They are located next to the riverbank which is just a couple of metres from our holiday homes. We have asked them to move the generators but they say they can’t. The National Trust won’t reply to anything.”

Humphrey added that the House of The Dragon production team has offered to distribute gift baskets to those impacted by the noise, but that this will not suffice. “We have been told that it could continue for another three weeks,” she said, “I have some guests booked in who have a baby and others with a lady who is 94. It’s not fair.”

What do you think about the issue? Talk to us in the comments below!

The production for Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is moving rather swiftly, and we might see George R. R. Martin’s prediction about the series’ release come to fruition. Various cast and crew members have been spotted by locals and reporters quite recently, despite HBO’s best efforts to keep the filming under the veil. The cast and the crew have returned to Holywell beach, but this time, the scale of production seems to be much more massive, covering a lot more ground than previous leaks, as reported by Cornwall Live.

The large scale filming and the shots that were being prepared looked as if they were preparing for a big battle sequence. Two boats followed by lines of smoke set the backdrop at Holywell Bay near Newquay. Well, where there’s smoke there’s fire, and fans can hope it is from the dragons we are so excited to see in the Game of Thrones prequel.

Marshals wearing high-vis jackets and facemasks lead cast members across the desert-like sands at Holywell Bay. Not much can be seen considering the distance, but the actors wearing turbans and yellowish attire seem to be from Dorne. There are also some Targaryen soldiers on the set, possibly from Rhaenyra’s section.

A huge part of the beach was shut off to locals, though they still flocked around the scene trying to get a first-hand glimpse of the shoot.

An unidentified Targaryen soldier was also seen gazing at the sea in a scene being shot on what appears to be a hilltop, possibly trying to encompass the scale of destruction of the battle. There are also some props resembling shipwrecks, that also point towards the theory.

Which important battle sequence from the Dance of the Dragons is being filmed here? Tell us in the comments below!
