Check out the trailer for “The Flood” starring Lena Headey (Cersei) and Iain Glen (Jorah)
The Coronavirus impact can be felt in every sphere of life. While most of the sectors have been shut down owing to the spread, the entertainment industry too has been affected. The production of almost every new series and movies has been halted. There is one good news for fans though, the trailer of Lena Headey a.k.a. Cersei Lannister for the USA audience has been released and you can check it out here!
We had reported about the film sometime back and it looks as exciting as ever. In the movie, Headey is playing the role of Wendy, a hardened immigration officer. It is a huge departure for Headey after playing Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones. This will be the first significant role for Headey since the iconic character in HBO’s blockbuster.
The official synopsis makes for a very intriguing read and the subject of the movie seems very relevant.
Wendy (Lena Headey), a hardened immigration officer in the UK is offered a high-profile asylum case, judged on her ability to quickly & clinically reject applicants. Through her interrogation, she must uncover whether Haile (Ivanno Jeremiah) is lying and has a more sinister reason for seeking asylum. We follow Haile on his perilous 5000 KM journey over oceans, across borders, and amidst the flurry of the Calais Jungle to find solace and safety in the UK. But now he must cross the final hurdle. Based on multiple true stories, The Flood is a thoughtful and timely reflection on the humanity within the refugee crisis.
Immigration was the hottest topic in Europe before Coronavirus swept everything. It is going to be fascinating to see how the story has been shown in the movie.
The Flood also stars Headey’s Game of Thrones co-star Iain Glen a.k.a. Jorah Mormont. The movie hit the cinemas in the UK last year but it is going to be released digitally in the USA on May 1st.
