A second Game of Thrones prequel about the Targaryens is close to getting a pilot
Game of Thrones might have permanently ended, but the universe isn’t done telling its stories. The last we checked, there were multiple prequels under construction, with one prequel — Blood Moon, having finished filming the pilot. Now, it seems like the second prequel is getting close to a pilot order, and it’s about the Targaryens. Read on!
Deadline recently revealed in an exclusive bit that a second Game of Thrones prequel being developed by Ryan Condol with George R. R. Martin, and based upon the downfall of House Targaryen is close to getting a pilot order from HBO. The series is supposed to be based on GRRM’s book, Fire & Blood.
Now, if you’re wondering if you saw Condol’s name among one of the developers of the five prequel series that were initially revealed, let’s save you the time — you didn’t. Condol’s idea is apparently not a sixth prequel, but a revisit to Bryan Cogman’s preuqel idea from a different angle. Cogman had revealed a few months ago that his prequel idea had been scrapped.
Fire & Blood goes from Aegon the Conqueror’s conquests right to the Dance of the Dragons, that marked the fall of the Targaryens, which apparently is expected to be a big part of the series. There is no official information yet, but it looks like the show could get a go for pilot filming anytime now.

The cast of Game of Thrones consisted of a host of highly talented actors. Some of them had their careers set up by the show. They sort of grew up with the series, like Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark). Others were already famous and highly decorated, like Lena Headey, who played the villainous Lion Queen Cersei Lannister.
Lena Headey, who has also starred in famous movies like 300 and Dredd, is now set to join the Marvel Universe. She will voice Thea, the wife of Dr Gabriel (Luke Wilson) in Marvel’s upcoming animated series New-Gen. The show is a futuristic sci-fi fantasy involving kids being infected with nanotechnology, superhuman powers, robotic insects, and time travel.
Headey’s character Thea is as powerful as her husband, Dr Gabriel. She is a caretaker with levitation and clairvoyant abilities. She is strong-willed and passionate in her actions but possesses a motherly instinct.
Earlier, Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Richard Madden (Robb Stark) had joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They were pit in a love triangle in the upcoming movie The Eternals. Maisie Williams has also starred in Marvel’s The New Mutants.

Game of Thrones had a host of highly talented artists in its cast and crew. Some of them joined very young, and grew up with the series, like Maisie Williams (Arya Stark). Some were already famous before appearing on Game of Thrones, like veteran actor Aidan Gillen.
Gillen brought such charm and mystery to his character Petyr Baelish, the audience was forced to love and hate him at the same time. Aidan is now set to appear in Irish crime drama Kin.
The series comes from international TV division of Joker producer Bron Studios and The Man In The High Castle producer Headline Pictures. Irish public broadcaster RTÉ and Scandinavian streamer Viaplay have gathered an excellent cast for the show. The cast also includes Daredevil’s Charlie Cox, Clare Dunne (Herself), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Outlander) and Emmett Scanlan (Guardians of the Galaxy).
The series is based on the story of a fictional Dublin family embroiled in a gang war. It describes how the family endured the war due to their unbreakable bonds of blood and family. Aidan Gillen had appeared in another crime-drama Peaky Blinders earlier. He did a fantastic job as Aberama Gold. The multi-talented actor also appeared in a music video earlier this year.
Gillen is sure to shine in the upcoming crime drama. What do you think of the series? Tell us in the comments below!
Very often we idolize celebrities from our favourite shows and movies. When we think of them, their lifestyle, their riches and wardrobe glistens in front of our eyes. We as fans want to be like them, but sometimes forget the struggles they’ve been through to get there. Game of Thrones macho man, Jason Momoa, is one of the most down-to-earth actors one has ever seen. In an interview with InStyle, the actor talked about his struggles in real life.
“I mean, we were starving after Game of Thrones,” he said. “I couldn’t get work. It’s very challenging when you have babies and you’re completely in debt.” Things got better for him after being cast as the Aquaman in Justice League. His solo movie Aquaman solidified his position as a great actor.
The 41-year-old actor also talked about being bullied when young. “I got beat up a lot,” he said. “Just for being slightly different—it was gnarly. I mean, I wore Birkenstocks in middle school, and it was like, ‘You are a freak!’”
It is tough to imagine, someone who played the fierce Khal Drogo had to face bullying at school. Also, the interview proves the fact that celebrities have real-life problems too. You can be broke even if you’re famous.
Jason Momoa is set to appear in the highly awaited movie Dune. What do you think of Momoa’s rise to success? Talk to us in the comments below!
