Kit Harington on the infamous Game of Thrones coffee cup incident: “It wasn’t me!”
Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 had several awe-inspiring moments to be sure. But the one that hogged all the limelight was a Starbucks cup sitting pretty in front of Daenerys Targaryen on the Winterfell high table. Fans have been pointing to Emilia Clarke as the Mother of the Starbucks Gaffe. After nearly two years, her Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow in the series, opened up about the infamous incident.
In a recent interview with Uproxx, Harington talked about his debut film in the MCU, the Eternals. He explained how good he was at keeping secrets (he did it for eight years, thanks to Game of Thrones), and he has always been proud of that skill. He said:
“[Laughs] Yeah. Yeah. I was pretty good. I think I prided myself. I got blamed for leaving a coffee cup on a shot once, which wasn’t me.”
Here he is talking about the infamous coffee cup incident that we mentioned above. He continued:
“Yeah… Well, she [Sophie Turner] blamed me for that. And I swear it wasn’t! Other than that, as far as spoilers, no, I didn’t. I’m pretty good! I’m pretty sure I didn’t mess anything up.”
