Hannah Murray’s memoir, The Make-Believe, reveals harrowing details about a “wellness” cult
The stars of Game of Thrones are leaving their imprint worldwide. These exceptionally skilled actors have risen to become some of the most distinguished and familiar personalities in the acting world. Hannah Murray reveals involvement with a cult in her memoir
Murray’s upcoming memoir, The Make-Believe, has some shocking revelations in store. Hutchinson Heinemann has acquired the UK and Commonwealth rights, including audio, for “The Make-Believe” from Harriet Poland at CAA, set for publication in the summer of 2026. This acquisition comes after a competitive bidding war involving 13 publishers. The prologue to the book (as per The Bookseller) reads:
“This is the story of the blurred line between what is real, and what is an illusion; what we must accept and what we wish to be true; between solid earth beneath your feet and a world where anything is possible if you only commit. Her involvement with the cult happened during a busy time in her life, after filming scenes for the seventh season of Game of Thrones between 2016 and 2017. Murray thanked Hutchinson Heinemann for giving her a stage to open up about her struggles:
“The Make-Believe tells a deeply personal story that has lived inside me for many years and which it now feels vital to share. I could not be more thrilled to be working with Helen Conford, whose vision for the book aligns perfectly with mine. I’m grateful to Helen and the whole team at Hutchinson Heinemann for their belief in this book and its story, and I can’t wait to start working together.”
