Pedro Pascal becomes a superhero in Netflix’s We Can Be Heroes
The year 2020 was a Red Wedding for humanity. In times like these, we often wish for a superhero to have existed in reality. Even though we don’t have superheroes in real life, we do have superhero movies to help us get through tough times. What’s better than seeing our favourite stars donning the cape? Game of Thrones’ Pedro Pascal joins the superhero squad of We Can Be Heroes.
The Spy Kids filmmaker Robert Rodriguez is back with another action-hero-family genre movie. Pedro Pascal, Boyd Holbrook and Christian Slater are members of a superhero squad called Heroics. Priyanka Chopra is the Director of the Heroics. The movie begins with the group kidnapped and their kids left to try to save them. The film will also have a cameo by Sharkboy and Lavagirl, superhero avatars created by Rodriguez in 2005.
Rodriguez has often expressed the desire to work with Pedro. The new movie will follow the same light-hearted comedy and sci-fi fantasy theme as his earlier works. Looks like the year 2020 is finally ending with a good note. (So many Game of Thrones stars appearing on other platforms, and of course, Biden’s win!).

Dreams keep our hopes alive. They lift our aims higher and help us achieve something satisfying in life. Sometimes these dreams lead people into doing something they shouldn’t. They don’t realise it until its too late. Game of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage is set to appear in Paul Dektor’s movie American Dreamer. His new role will show him facing the same dilemma.
The movie is said to based on a true story segment from the This American Life podcast. It will be similar in tone to Melfi’s St. Vincent. American Dreamer shows Dr Phil Loder (Peter Dinklage), a low-level, adjunct professor of economics at Harvard, whose grand dream of owning a home is tragically out of reach. It is until an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity comes his way when a lonely, childless, near-death widow (Shirley MacLaine) offers Phil her sprawling estate for pennies. But Phil quickly learns the deal is too good to be true.
American Dreamer is banked by Peter Dinklage and David Ginsberg’s Estuary Films, Theodore Melfi and Kim Quinn’s Goldenlight Film, Paul Dektor and Flying Firebird LLC. The project is currently in pre-production.
Dinklage will also be seen in the comedic thriller I Care A Lot. Are you excited to watch Peter Dinklage once again on the silver screen? Talk to us in the comments below!
Game of Thrones boasted a host of remarkable characters that had a lasting presence on the audience’s memory. Some were brave and honourable like Jon Snow, while there were some who were downright scary. One of these scary ones included the silent knight Ser Ilyn Payne. He was a part of some of the most pivotal scenes of the show, including Ned Stark’s execution. The character was played by English guitarist, singer and songwriter Wilko Johnson.
Born John Peter Wilkinson, the music pioneer was instrumental to the punk movement of the 70s. He was the original lead guitarist for the Essex pub rock band, Dr Feelgood. The punk rock icon made his television debut when he joined the cast of Thrones for its first season back in 2011.
As with George R.R. Martin’s original books, Payne was originally intended to have a much more prominent role as the series went on. Unfortunately, HBO was forced to phase out the character following Johnson’s declining health.
The musician announced he had been diagnosed with late-stage pancreatic cancer in 2013. Season two, episode nine, Blackwater, marked his last appearance in the series. Thankfully, the musician and occasional actor has since made a full recovery. At the age of 73, he has been able to continue his music career.
How do you think the story would have changed if Payne had stayed throughout the series? Tell us in the comments below!
The beginning of the year 2021 has been a stressful one. The world is still recovering from the effects of COVID-19. In a recent turn of events, there has been a shocking revelation about singer Marilyn Manson’s off-screen life. Game of Thrones star Esmé Bianco has accused Manson of emotional and physical abuse.
In an interview with The Cut, Bianco said her relationship with Manson, real name Brian Warner, has left her with PTSD and physical scars. “He’s told the world time and time again, ‘This is who I am’. He hid in plain sight,” she said.
During their relationship, she said he would inflict permanent scars on her body. Including the time he cut her torso with a knife. “I just remember laying there, and I didn’t fight it. It was kind of this final-straw moment where I had lost all sense of hope and safety,” Bianco said.
She added, “I think I would have made excuses for him. I was in survival mode at that point. My brain had taught me to be small and agreeable. I basically felt like a prisoner. I came and went at his pleasure. Who I spoke to was completely controlled by him. I called my family hiding in the closet.”
“Now, when I think about that, I’m so ashamed. I was desperately trying to please him and to keep myself out of trouble,” she said.
