Game of Thrones was a memorable experience for both the fans and the show’s crew. Rarely do we see a TV show achieve massive popularity as Game of Thrones did in the last decade. Many of the show’s crew have moved on to new projects, including showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. They are working on a new Netflix show, The Chair, along with Killing Eve star Sandra Oh. The Chair is co-produced and co-created by Benioff’s wife, the actress Amanda Peet, and is officially set to premiere on Netflix on Friday, August 27.
The premiere date was announced in a teaser posted on Netflix’s social media, recapping the show’s plot. Oh plays Professor Ji-Yoon Kim, the first female and woman of colour hired as the head of Pembroke University’s English department. Check out the teaser below:
The Pembroke Daily news clipping teases that Professor Kim’s hiring may have come “179 years too late”, but it also may be “a last-ditch effort” to save a department seen by the school as a “sinking ship”.
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are also involved in a project that includes veteran actor Hugh Jackman. Are you excited about The Chair? Talk to us in the comments below!
