Indira Varma performed on stage with Emilia Clarke days before she tested positive for Coronavirus
The Coronavirus has been spreading rapidly around the world and at the time of writing this article, there are an estimated 435,383 confirmed cases and that include some big names like Prince Charles, Idris Elba, Kevin Durant, and more. Even Game Of Thrones cast members were affected as Kristofer Hivju (Tormund) and Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand) tested positive for the virus last week. So far we haven’t received updates from both of them and we hope that they recover soon.
Indira Varma had shared the news by sharing a post on her Instagram account on 18th March and she asked everyone to take care and stay safe, while also being sad about her play, The Seagull being suspended due to Coronavirus.
“So sad our and so many other shows around the world have gone dark affected by the COVID-19 pandemic”. However, she was hopeful that the shows would return and further asked for everyone’s support. “We hope to be back soon and urge you all (and the govt) to support us when we do.”
In the post, she shared photos of her co-stars and that included Emilia Clarke as well and it turns out that on 12th of March, there was a preview of The Seagull and Emilia Clarke and rest of the cast performed with Indira Varma. That’s just 6 days days before Indira announced that she tested positive. Now we don’t know when she contracted the virus and I hope that Emilia and rest of the cast members are safe.
Here’s a photo that was shared on 12th March by Twitter user The Seagull (Unofficial).
Another Twitter user named Paulette had shared a video of the play on 12th March.

In this photo shared by a user named Amy (who also clicked the image that we have displayed at the start of the article), we can see Clarke standing next to Varma.
So far there is no news about Emilia Clarke or other cast members testing positive for Coronavirus and I hope that it stays the same. Emilia hasn’t been active on Instagram and her last post was shared in February, where she shared some photos from the rehearsal of the play.
Here are some of the tweets by people who attended the play on 12th March.
#TheSeagull is brilliant?Amazing cast and adaptation. Indira was mesmerising and my #emiliaclarke just gave me chills during the last part. It reminded me of her, of me, of why she as Emilia and as an actress who does what she likes, is my inspiration ?
