Nikolaj Coster-Waldau on Jaime’s redemption arc biting the dust as he returns to King’s Landing

"I was quite surprised," says Gwendoline Christie about Brienne and Jaime in "The Last of the Starks"

A sobbing Brienne of Tarth was a truly disheartening sight. The fourth episode of Game Of Thrones season 8 has come under the scanner for various things – a sad injustice to its women’s arcs was one of them. Jaime had just recently started learning what he truly is, as under Cersei’s shadow, it looked like Jaime had no identity of his own.

However, Jaime’s decision of leaving Brienne has shattered hearts of many along with brutal ripping off of his redemption arc. It is as if you either die a villain, or live long enough to see yourself almost become a hero but tragically lose all the heroism in a snap.

So when Nikolaj Coster-Waldau spoke to Vanity Fair about his choice, he sounded pretty reflective about it.

Can we redefine ourselves? Most people have moments in their life where you go, ‘Can I really, fundamentally change?’. The core of him has always been Cersei. When that’s taken away, what are you then? What’s left? Is there anything left? When he leaves, obviously he has no idea. He doesn’t know the answer to that question.”

Waldau talks about his own marriage and tries to take a cue from it. He explains why Jaime’s decision to leave Cersei was one of those that we take to save ourselves, but may not be able to stick to for a long time.

I have a wonderful wife. But over 20 years, there are times where you have fights. You can be so angry that for a second in your passion and anger you can go, ‘Oh, fuck this.’ Of course, three seconds later, you go, ‘No, no, no. What am I doing? What am I thinking?’ . . . I think the fundamental emotions are the same in every relationship. As a setup for the season we’re shooting now, it was just amazing”, Waldau quips. He also thinks that one has to connect the dots faster now because so much is happening in such less time.

Jaime had decided to fight for the living. He did that. He was loyal to one promise. But he had also promised Cersei that he would put family first. “The things we do for love”. Some fans are rooting for the Kingslayer to also become a Queenslayer and fulfill the much spoken about Valonqar prophecy.

So it remains now to be seen whether Jaime really goes to Cersei because he loves her or is he trying to protect Brienne and will he then kill the mad queen Cersei? He had once told Bronn that he would love to die in the arms of the woman he loves. So will they breathe their last breath together like they had come in the world together? Two more episodes. And we would know. Or maybe in the next one? What do you say?

Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa opens up about life with family

Real-life is often different from reel life. The celebrities we idolize often face regular problems like normal people. We might want a life like theirs, but ignore the struggles they had to face. For example, Game of Thrones macho man Jason Momoa. Though he appears fearsome as Khal Drogo and majestic as Aquaman on-screen, he’s completely different in real life. The 41-year-old actor recently opened up about his life off-screen in an interview with Men’s Health magazine.

The Game of Thrones star revealed, “I may look big and tough, but I’m not. I’m nothing like Khal Drogo. I’m not even the king of my own house! I’m absolutely terrified of my wife.”

Momoa loves his family. He said, “We’ve all gotten so much closer. My wife is very sophisticated and smart and our kids and I are kind of like animals that need to be trained a little better. I’m constantly a work in progress, and I’ve just been trying to get better as a father and a husband.”

Jason has been through a lot, without letting anyone know about his troubles. He recently revealed in an interview how his family was facing financial troubles after Game of Thrones. It is tough to imagine someone as popular as he went broke. Things got better for him after the Justice League.

Jason Momoa describes Yoga as ‘the hardest thing' he’s ever done

Game of Thrones achieved great success and popularity in the past decade. The show set the bar for television series in terms of its story, scenery, CGI and battle scenes. However, it was also famous for another reason, a collection of well-built, tight and ripped bodies on-set. They caused awe amongst the audience, even encouraging them to get their own set of 6-pack-abs. Game of Thrones’ handsome hunk Jason Momoa, shared his secrets to a fit body with Men’s Health magazine.

The 41-year-old actor revealed his workout regime in an interview with the renowned magazine. However, he was terrified of doing Yoga. He said,  “So I tried yoga the other day, and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I’d rather squat a car. Climbing El Capitan would be easier than doing two hours of yoga. I can’t bend over anymore! My hamstrings are so tight. It’s pathetic.”

Momoa added, “I was in a yoga class with these older ladies in Topanga and everyone was just holding their arms up and I was like, ‘This is so hard!’”.

He also talked about his love for outdoor activities, “I rock climb a lot. Maybe I’m an ape. I love the way it feels. I like being upside down. I always loved climbing trees as a kid and swinging in the breeze.”

Momoa had revealed how his family was facing financial troubles in an interview earlier. What do you think of Momoa’s regime? Tell us in the comments below!

Game of Thrones’ Iain Glenn discusses the dark side of cycling as shown in his film ‘The Racer’

Game of Thrones' Iain Glenn turns to cycling's dark side in The Racer

It is always fun to see our favourite actors play out radically different roles. Iain Glenn, who played the honourable and heroic Ser Jorah Mormont, was seen playing a not-so-heroic role in The Racer.

Directed by Kieron J Walsh, the movie circles around a series of scandals that took place at the 1998 Tour de France. The film was the opening film for the Cork International Film Festival. Though fictional, The Racer shows the dangerous lengths teams will go to for a competitive edge. Iain Glen plays the team’s Mr Fixit with the syringes and vials.

Iain Glenn talked to the Irish Examiner about the movie, “I studied documentaries and a couple of films just to get to know the world it occupied. What drew me to the script was it didn’t hold back its punches. I thought it was a very frank and honest, quite a wry, insightful look at a particularly bad period for drug abuse within the sport.”

He continued, “That tour became known as the Tour de Drugs because of the amount of drugs that were going down at the time. The people within the team and my character, certainly within the context of the film, didn’t have any great qualms about it – everyone was doing it and we were doing it as well. That was the norm. It’s ironic to think that (Lance) Armstrong was about to enjoy his great stretch as being the world-leading cyclist and he won so many tours in a row and this was prior to that. During Armstrong’s time, everyone thought the sport had got its act together a bit more.”

Earlier, Kit Harington was seen playing a shady role in Criminals Season 2. What do you think about the movie? Tell us in the comments below!
