Kit Harington reveals why Jon Snow really killed Daenerys Targaryen
Game of Thrones brought us a tragic end that involved both of its lead characters, and we saw Jon Snow murder Daenerys Targaryen, and neither got to see themselves rule the Seven Kingdoms. Now, as we all know, this move from Jon Snow came as a surprise to many, and a kit Harington has finally revealed why Jon did it. Read on!
As we had reported, the Game of Thrones series disc sets are here, and they come with a lot of special features including behind the scenes bits. In one such bit, Kit Harington broke down what went through Jon’s head in the moment when he visited the Throne Room to find Daenerys there.
Speaking of what pushed Jon to kill Daenerys, Entertainment Weekly reports that Kit said:
“He doesn’t know he’s going to betray her until right at the end. In Jon’s head, it’s a number of [reasons: Dany] doesn’t factor in anyone else’s decisions and it also means [Dany] is going to kill my sisters, so it becomes [my] family vs. her.”
This actually answers a key question. It proves that Jon Snow was a Stark after all, and not a Targaryen, as his ultimate move was about the safety of the family he has always known.
