Hasbro and HBO to bring in a new edition of Game of Thrones Monopoly game that plays the show’s theme song

Game of Thrones Season 8 might be five months away, but this doesn’t let HBO from lessening the hype even a bit. First 3-second-long footage, then first exclusive image, and then finally it announced the official airing month of the new season. Building up the hype further, HBO in collaboration with Hasbro brings in a new edition of the Game of Thrones Monopoly game for both Game of Thrones and monopoly lovers.

HBO had also previously released an older version of the game, which has been revived in this edition of the game with the simple rules of monopoly. One of the new addition is that the gameplay will have tokens and properties inspired by the TV series.

According to the official announcement by Jonathan Berkowitz, President of Hasbro Brands:

 “HBO has an incredibly robust and passionate fan base for the GAME OF THRONES series, and we’re excited to offer yet another way for these fans to connect with the brand. The board, the tokens, the money, and even the game pieces are derived directly from the show, ensuring GAME OF THRONES fans can be transported into the world of Westeros through an engaging and authentic MONOPOLY experience.”

The contents of the game box will include a game board, 6 tokens, 28 Title Deed cards, Iron Throne card holder with musical stand, 32 Chance cards, 32 holdfasts, 12 castles, 2 dice, 95 cardboard coins (42 gold dragons, 53 silver stags), and game guide.

The most alluring part of the game is the Iron Throne card holder with a music stand which will play the theme music from the series throughout gameplay.  Priced at $29.99, the game will be out in the market from January 2019 is already available for pre-ordering on Walmart, Amazon, the HBO shop, and GameStop.
