Game of Thrones Season 7 finale, ‘The Dragon and the Wolf’ was one of the best episodes of the show, yet. A few scenes stole the show in it, and one such scene was a clash of the titans, bringing together a majority of the important characters on the show, the Dragonpit scene. In this scene, we saw Cersei Lannister ultimately promise Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow that she will march her forces up north to fight the Army of the Dead, but it was later revealed that she was lying.
Michele Clapton, the head of the costumes department for the show, recently said on HBO’s Making Game of Thrones, that the costume Cersei wore was indicative of her lying. Clapton discussed the costumes of both the queens, focusing on Daenerys’ Winter coat, and Cersei’s Dragonpit attire. Speaking of Cersei’s dressing in Season 7, she said :
“She’s been quite extravagant.”
Cersei’s dresses have been carrying a lot of spikes, but the dress she wore in the Season 7 finale, was more of a “chain-mail style dress and a black molded coat”, and the feature that hinted at her lies : a slashed pattern on the back. Check it out, below :
Michele said :
“I knew she was lying. Something about the slashing and the twisting told you a lot about her character, a contradiction of the costume from the front. It’s almost like a sting in the tail, something on edge as you see her walk away: there’s something really disturbing about this woman.”
Could you tell Cersei was lying from this detail? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
