Game of Thrones might have hinted at the death of a major character

Foreshadowing and knocking people out of their seats in shock are two of the things Game of Thrones is famous for. Deaths have been hinted at a few times on the show, including Littlefinger saying, “people die squatting over their chamber pots“,(Tywin Lannister, you poor man) and if we really pay attention, it’s generally very mind-blowing. In a similar fashion, another death was hinted at way back in season 4. Before we get to that, let’s recall how Margaery Tyrell kicked some serious ass by managing to avoid her walk of atonement, at the same time winning the trust of the High Sparrow by creating an alliance between the Crown and the Faith. Despite the utter disbelief of Lady Olenna Tyrell, and the formerly wasted grand-entry of Jaime Lannister with his horse running up the steps and all, we did know that it wasn’t something Margaery would do.

It has been fairly obvious that the Tyrell Queen is not one to fall prey to some double-standard ‘sparrow’ just to get herself out of prison. She’s devious enough, in her own way, and we’ve seen that since her introduction in the show. Now, going back to the hint of a death in season 4. There is a scene in which Margaery’s grandmother, Olenna Tyrell is helping the queen-to-be choose some jewellery for her wedding to King whats-his-face Joffrey, during which, our evil queen Margaery makes a comment about ending up wearing a necklace “of dead sparrow heads”. Has anyone caught the hint yet?

It means that the High Sparrow might end up dead and who knows, Margaery might have a role to play in it. That’s enough cause for celebration. We really hope this hint bears fruit and Margaery uses her scheming nature to whack the High Sparrow and possibly mount his head on a spear.
