Kit Harington proposed to Andy Samberg during the Emmys
Kit Harington is one of the most popular TV stars currently and he has a crazy fan following and people would do anything to make sure that Kit proposes to them. Sadly, the Jon Snow actor is in a relation with his Game of Thrones co-star Rose Leslie, who played the role of Ygritte on Game of Thrones. However, during the 2016 Emmys, Kit got down on one knee, with a ring in his hand but the person on the other end wasn’t his girlfriend Rose, but his Emmys co-presenter Andy Samberg.
The two actors who have previously worked together in the HBO mocumentary, 7 Days in Hell were presenting together and they started off with some jokes before announcing the nominees in the Variety Talk Series category. The Emmy for the category was won by John Oliver for his HBO show, Last Week Tonight. However, before the winner was declared, there was a gag between Kit and Andy, where he told Andy, “There’s something else I want to celebrate tonight with you, Andy,” and got down on one knee.
In turn, Sandy replied “What, Kit, what are you doing? Here at the Emmys? I do!” Take a look at the video below.
Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham who played the character of Davos Seaworth in the show has won the inaugural Human Rights Award. It was an important win for the actor and something which he is going to cherish for a long time. Read on.
As per Nova, Cunningham was recently bestowed upon by the award by Syrian refugee Husam Alhraki for his campaigning work on the rights of migrants and refugees. On receiving the award Cunningham felt honored and asked Europe to do more for the refugees. He said:
“It’s an honor for me to receive this award from the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, who have been working to make Ireland a freer and better country for almost half a century.
And it comes at a really important moment when Europe is literally allowing refugees to die on our borders. We need to stand up against this, to assert that Europe and Ireland we want to live in are places that offer refuge to people who need our help.”
In another interview recently, he was particularly vocal against the governments for not doing enough for this crisis. He said:
“It’s an ugly, filthy look on our government not to take care of business … we’re not doing as much as we should be doing and as much as we said we would. It’s terrible.”
Cunningham has emerged as a champion of human rights in Ireland and it is so good to see an actor stand up for a real cause.

Game of Thrones’ final season has continued its winning run at the awards. After winning the costume and audio awards recently, it has now won an award at Artios Awards from the Casting Society of America. Despite receiving the extreme reactions to the final season, the show has continued making waves at the awards. Read on to find out more!
As per Variety, in the recently concluded 35th Annual Artios Awards, Game of Thrones took home an Artio Award for Casting Excellence in a TV Drama. The Casting Society of America honoured Game of Thrones casting directors Nina Gold, Robert Sterne and Carla Stronge for their excellent casting of the show. All of them took home an award each for their invaluable contribution towards the show.
One thing we all can agree on is the fact that it had one of the greatest ensembles of the cast ever for a TV series. The show consisted of actors of the highest caliber. While somebody like Peter Dinklage has frequently won awards, the likes of Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke have gone on to sign big assignments even after the show. The younger members of the cast, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner too have gone on to become huge stars.
For any other show to pull off such a cast it will have to match the magnitude of Thrones. The star cast that Gold, Sterne, and Stronge managed to get in for the show is unlikely to be matched by another show soon.
Well, how about that? Game of Thrones has continued its award-winning run. Do you think it is going to continue winning awards at Directors Guild Awards and Writers Guild of America Awards scheduled on Saturday? Let us know in the comments below!
